5.what are some of the advantages of XBOX over ps2?

6.is it possible to save whole games to the harddrive(i heard it somewhere on the net)?

7.i know you can save songs to the harddrive, can it read cd-r's and cd-rw's?

8.how big is the harddrive in memory size? gb or mb.

9.can you connect it to your pc and use it as an external harddrive?

Here are your answers in the order you asked them.

Yes, no, no, yes, at 97.5 pounds it is handy for whacking intruders over the head, yes it is possible, yes, 8?, it is possible.

Anything else I can help you with?

If you are one of those super nerds they have some hacking kits or something available to do it.

It is possible, you just have to have no life to know how to do it.

I bought one a little after they hit the stores. I also picked up Sega GT 2002 - PGR 1 - THPS 2&3 - others I'm forgetting.

The reason I forgot, is because it was hands down, the BIGGEST waste of money ever. I hated it, and then when I thought about how much cash I dumped on it/games/accessories it made me even more angry. I sold it three months later.

On a side note, there are some good games out now. Enough for me to buy another XBOX? Nope.

My two

1 yes
2 yes
3 no
4 i suppose
5 depends on what exactly you are looking at
6 yes
7 yes - depends on when your Xbox was made. the release version won't read any type of burnt media. the next batch only read certain types and the newest will read most burnt media.
8 4GB i think
9 Not that I'm aware of - unless you can mod it.

I'm pretty sure most modern X-Boxes come with 20gb hdd's, mainly because they don't manufacure anything smaller. Initially they came with 8gb drives though. It does seem to use that extra capacity though, mine says it has 50,000 blocks free out of 50,000 even though there are several saves and music tracks on it.

Meh, I can't even remember the last time I played the damn thing.

Several

2.ones up to gran turismo quality?

Only arcade racers, not much in the sim department that is quality.

3.also i like the small controllers and i dont mind the bigger ones, so is there a difference besides size?

Less buttons, analog triggers ala Dreamcast, poor button placement (shape too in the original design) better thumbsticks than the PS2.

4.do they last a long time before they breakdown because i dont want to buy a machine that will break because i have a ps1 from 95 that hasent broken yet and if the XBOX goes before that i will be pissed.

Similar quality controllers and hardware.

5.what are some of the advantages of XBOX over ps2?

Built in LAN, better graphics, no need for a multitap for 4 players, built in HD.

6.is it possible to save whole games to the harddrive(i heard it somewhere on the net)?

Yes, but you need to mod your Xbox

7.i know you can save songs to the harddrive, can it read cd-r's and cd-rw's?

All models read CD-RW's, certain drives don't read CD-R's

8.how big is the harddrive in memory size? gb or mb.

8 GB. Newer models use 20's and larger, but each is locked at 8 GB. (with mods you can use much larger ones)

9.can you connect it to your pc and use it as an external harddrive?

There are several things you can do along these lines but once again you'll need to mod it.

it has its good points. hard drive is real useful...xbox live is amazing if you have broadband (for example, i havent played a single player game in like 3 weeks, even though i own more than a dozen, because my live games are just so much fun). downloads...dolby digital 5.1 sound if you have a decent system. hd compatibility with a lot of games if you have a good tv. lots of shooters, multiplatform games are generally best on xbox (not need for speed tho...sucks big time), better graphics (not just crisper textures either. for example, play grand theft auto double pack on xbox then on ps2 and you will see. its quite shocking). ps2 dominates with selection of titles, rpgs (tho star wars kotor kicks ass on xbox) and of course having GT as a sony exclusive really helps. halo 2 is xbox exclusive, so it almost evens it out... dunno which I would choose between my ps2 and xbox, but my xbox gets a hell of lot more play (until gt4 and mgs3 come out that is). my two cents.

amen. I've probably spent more than 300$ on games in the past 2 months. worse than crack.

i have both xbox and ps2 and i personally love the xbox....i have gt3 and mgs2 on the ps2(there probally the best ones that i have got) but the only game i now play is pes3 on the ps2 but i always play the xbox because i think that it has better games expessually (spelling) when halo 2 comes out and i also have xbox live so that xpands your games by far...xbox is a great buy i think.
