Does this mean there will be 950 plus so many from GTPSP ( extra 250 + maybe ) ?.Might be 1,200 cars or more :drool: đź‘Ť.If cars can be transfered from GT5p, someone could quote it as ridiculous.It might not only be cars, that are transferable.Also i reckon the cars you transfer, you'd have to buy again.
 
No, it's 950+ cars in total, not 950+ excluding cars carried from GT PSP, not 950+ excuding cars that run on urine, not 950+ cars excluding cars made from horse placenta. It is simply 950+ cars total. There is no other way to interpret it unless you look really hard for something that isn't there.

Given comments from other SCE reps the total is expected to be close to or just over the 1000 cars mark.
 
Right thanks Dave, looks like GTPSP is the next game then.
 
Doesn't sound right to me. If you think the GTPSP cars would bump the number of cars up, that would imply that the PSP cars aren't available in GT5!

And why would you have to buy the cars again that are transferred from GT5P? That would defeat the purpose wouldn't it?

Yes & no because the GT5 physics etc will be more challenging to the players.
 
I'd find it very dissapointing if the GTPSP car list took up a large percentage of the GT5 car list, its full of outdated mainstream vehicles. But what gets my hopes up is I'm sure I've seen a current generation C-class in a GT5 trailer :)
 
from my understanding AND logically...

950+ cars in GT5 will be 950+ cars total! (including all transfer from both GTPSP and GT5P!)

Meaning that all the cars IN GT5P & GTPSP are already included in GT5!

The word transfer does NOT mean or imply transferring new cars.

I am not sure why you would assume it so...

Transferring only mean BYpassing the act of buying the car in GT5 again.
you are saving your (fake) GT5 money by avoiding to buy the same car that you already bought in either or both GT5P and/or GTPSP.

2-case EXaMPLE: i have 75 Ferrari F1 in my GT5P garage, & when GT5 will come out in two years, i will be able to start with those 75 same cars in my GT5 garage.
But for someone who previously does not have GT5P or GT5PSP, and who will be buying for the first time the PS3 in the GT5 bundle, he(she) would have to buy that Ferrari F1 (part of the 950+ cars in that game).


Is that better & clearer as explaination?


having said that... i wish i could be wrong and Smoke and Slide is speaking the truth...
but that would be asking for 3 more years of delay :S

Platinum member, already posted plenty in the GT5 thread, already seen the fact lists, and now your questioning the 950+ cars. Are we that stuck for news?

Well, add to that a little question from me: Did KY/PD mention you could transfer ALL cars from GTPSP, or only a selection? When you look in the garage in GTPSP, some cars are non-tradable, would that refer only to transferring to other people or also between games?

There will be over 1000 cars, with ~200 brand new ones. 200 cars is already more than most other racing games.
Also, don't forget GT4 already had every important car from 1900 to 2005. Add ~50 more classics and you'll have 150 new cars from 2005 to 2010.
Can you name 150 cars from those years ?

Most brands only change designs every 5 years anyway.

haha this is beyond anything i've read on here before. if cars from gtpsp are transferable they still need to be modeled in GT5. if a gtpsp car isnt in GT5, you cant transfer it over. my god

I'm sure they will have updated the appropriate models, but why throw old cars away?
 
They're throwing every model from GT4 away,GT5 cars are not GT4's models. They're creating a new model for every car in GT4 if i's out of date model or not.

The car choice in GTPSP is already amazing. Think, they had to re-model every car that the PSP version had recycled from GT4 (The new models in GTPSP were downscaled versions of GT5 models, so those cars are confirmed). However, There is no confirmation anywhere that every car in GTPSP will be transferrable (otherwise we would have sufficient evidence to update the master car list up to around 900 models.).

So we will see at least 200 new models, i guess a lot of those will be racing cars from the last 20-30 years, touring cars, le mans prototypes, stock cars etc.

GT4 did not have every important car from 1900 to 2005. Not even remotely close. Also, don't forget that GT4 did not have Ferrari, Lamborghini, and whatever other new brands GT5 will have.
 
950 cars... and a horse! Would easily beat some cars on the list on a short track!
 
there was a few cars that ran on urine it gt4, hopefully a better fuel is provided
 
What about cow poo, it worked with Rovers on TG or chip fat oil on Fifth Gear.Hey how about bio-diesel races.
