A quote taken from this article: http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/07/25/news_6129721.html

In regards to the Gundam game for XB360:

"A trailer of the game was prepared for the event but was canceled at the last minute by company president Shin Unozawa. Unozawa apologized to the visitors and explained that the trailer could not be shown because the game's quality is still far below that of the PlayStation 3's Gundam demo, which was shown during Sony's PlayStation Meeting 2005 conference last week."

Is it bad that I find this utterly hilarious? This version is probably going to come out before the PS3 version, and yet it sucks so bad by comparison that they had to hide it from the public's eyes?

 If there was a Playstation Fanboy Association, you guys can be the chairman and the president!

On the serious note, was Bandai President trying to hurt the reputation of X360 or what? Oh, well. I'm pulling for Sony, so I don't care. :p

People into Gundam games would be "fanboys" on the behalf of G4 TV show "X-Play." In one sense, it doesn't really matter what the game looks like if this Gundam game can't shine. In another, this is pretty funny.

"No! Our game isn't up to par graphically to be shown! Go away! Please?"

Thanks to the great Administrator Jordan, we have a smiley for situations like this, so dig this, players: !

Well, I mean who knows? They probably developed the game for PS3, then started a port to Xbox360... maybe 6 weeks ago.... that would be a reason for weak grafics etc....doesn't have to be flaming etc....

Thats not a very bad thing, it just means the games not at the same stage in development as the PS3 one yet. The fact that they're holding back the video because it's not as good yet means it can be as good.

No Live, it's obvious that because of the progress of the GUNDAM game, the Ps3 is the superior console to own...No questions asked...Doi

I think someone said before X360 should be the base for multiplatform games. It was started on PS3 and then they tried with X360 and did not get the same result. by the way the PS3 demo of the game had no world animation or collision detection. I have no idea how they can't make a few 150,000 polygon mechs shooting at buildings.

I'm sorry, but no. Checking the article, it says in the first paragraph that this Gundam game will be an exclusive for the Xbox. And the fact that they were planning on exhibiting it means that it probably is somewhat complete.

If thats true then its not the same game making this irrelevant.

as tha_con and I have previously stated, porting games from a cell architecture to an x32 is extremely difficult. they likely had to rebuild the entire code from scratch, and it would likely have been the same way had they flipped the x360 and ps3.

though, that's still hilarious. go cell, go!

No it's not since Forza and GT4 are exclusives for two consoles and made by two different companies.

The simple fact is, the game wasn't displayed because it wasn't ready, not becasue the XB360 is inferior.

Read the article... they WERE going to show it.. they had a whole trailer already done and ready to go. They only cancelled it AFTER seeing what the other folks had done for the PS3 version. If they were comfortable with where the game was in development, they would have gone ahead and shown the trailer. It sounds to me like they didn't want to be embarrassed by what they had. Which is saying something, because the PS3 demo was woefully incomplete and looked very much like a game still in the early stages of development.

Also don't overlook the fact that these two games should be, in theory, at approximately the same point in development. They're coming out at around the same time next year. And Microsoft has been bragging for quite a while now that people have had 360 dev kits a lot longer than they've had PS3 dev kits.

It still doesn't mean the XB360 is inferior or that both teams have started with the same parts of the games. The PS3 tem probably have spent a lot more time on the graphical side of the demo, the XB team have probably concentrated on other aspects. Having seen the PS3 sde looking better graphically or whatever they probably just didn't want to send out the message that the XB360 version would be inferior and it more than likely wont be.

OMG LOOK A GAME NO WHERE NEAR FINISHED ON THE PS3 LOOKS BETTER THEN A GAME TOTALLY UNFINISHED ON THE XBOX AND THEY PULLED IT, LETS JUDGE BOTH SYSTEMS ON THIS ONE SCRAP OF PRETTY POINTLESS INFO!!!1!!

Or not. The xbox 2 dev team on that game may just not be very good. Or may just be way behind. Who knows.

What Omnis said.

I don't like either $ony or Micro$oft as companies. They don't really care about us as anything but consumers to suck money from, unlike Sega and Nintendo, who go out of their way to garner our favor. Especially in Japan, my gosh, the goodies they get over there. Sigh, we gaijin are but stepchildren.

Maybe the PS3 is a dream to develop on, maybe the XBox team didn't try hard enough. But Microsoft isn't going to let anyone show them up. When the systems are in front of our TVs running, both sides will have something to crow about.

Yeah, I'm getting a PS3. I HAVE to have my GT5.

Nintendo and Sega sell games and only games.Sony and MS do more than just games.
