This is why online requirements are dumb

We now can't play the game we paid for because the company can't even role out a working update. PD are so incapable to do anything these days. They can't release a game that is actually designed properly. Then they try and fix it and make it even worse. Now no one can play there game at all. Bunch of idiots. At this rate I will be happy to put up with Forza's stupid hot wheels cars and dumb car colour tears that make no sense at all. At least in that game it won't take me 3 generations to save up for a car that someone else can just buy for $40 so your hard work isn't even something to be proud of.

Most people bought it in good faith, with a return to the Gran Turismo era of Gt4 been offered, not this event light, mtx, grind fest that has now appeared.
But it’s also common knowledge that there are always issues and fixes that take time to sort out with a new release, so no one who has played previous versions can claim they didn’t know what to expect. Yet they still bought it And then sit online moaning about it.

They are moaning about it, as they can't play it currently. A game that was a Grind at the best if times, which this update made even worse, which has also rendered the game unplayable for most of the day currently.

I'm sorry that you can't play the game you say you hate.
Most people were wanting to enjoy this game, a GT returning to its roots, not for it to be a bungled Mish mash of nothingness.

Given the choice everyone would rather be playing through a well designed career mode, with replayability, and time spent well rewarding payouts.

Not a 'pride and accomplishment' offering PD style.

Don't confuse disappointment with hate.

Generally speaking, that "confusion" is a reasonable presumption. If someone eats a cake and looks disappointed, I'll continue to assume that they hate it.

I'm glad you enjoy the game?

So why can't I play single player while they are fixing it?

I never said I hated the game? I said PD were incapable and the online requirement was dumb. Its people that always stick up for companies when they are clearly doing bad things is what causes them to continue to it.
Are you saying its a good thing that this game forces you to be online even for single player? It wasn't in GT Sport and that turned out alright. When I pay for a new game then that game tends to be the game I play the most as its something new. Now I can't play it at all and haven't been able to all day.
I get 2 days off work per week. Wednesday and Thursday so now 1 of my days off I haven't been able to spend it doing what I wanted to do because of something that isn't consumer friendly at all. It just creates waste as all those plastic GT7 discs will be rendered useless in the future when PD or Sony close the servers down. It also causes issues like the one we currently face where the servers are down for maintenance. The only reason I can think they would do this is if a glitch gets found where someone can earn easy credits they mite not update the game to continue exploiting it. Or to stop jailbreak users playing the game but honestly that isn't good enough. Think about how we sometimes like to go back and play classic games for nostalgia? This won't be possible with GT7 which is supposed to be a celebration for GTs 25th anniversary. A game which is supposed to be a big release and it will be unplayable in the future.

Totally agree with you man!

Are you asking me if I said a thing that I never said? No, I never said that.

Solution is obvious isn't it? We can look back at past online titles for the answer.

In a future version of the game, introduce an update that says 'you are not connected to servers, would you care to proceed in offline mode?' Yes / No.

If No you stay at the title screen so you can return to the PS menu to try and get online etc, If Yes, you have access to 100% of the offline single player experience.

Maybe this is where we try and be productive and construct a simple petition question to PD, something like 'Please introduce an offline mode option to GT7'?

This red Miata agrees with that red Miata.
