Well done to the user winning the time trial with a heavily modified Nissan Bluebird- you have single handedly shown us all why modified cars were banned from this game before, and will probably be banned again very shortly.

I should point out, I have no problem with modded cars. I'm of the mindset that you bought the game, modify away. I also don't mind using modified cars in online lobbies that have clearly been labelled "hacked cars" or something like that. But using an extremely nodded Nissan Bluebird with crazy acceleration and a body lifted about 2 feet off it's wheels is not clever. It destroys the fun of everyone else trying to play the game seriously.

So well done, because of you drawing attention to the modded cars by cheating the time trial event, you have singlehandedly assured that all the people just modding for fun will end up as the losers.

Here is a photo taken from the replay. Seems legit. At this point it had accelerated from about 0-140mph in half a second.

I would take a picture of it and remove his name from your post. Though I completely agree with you, yeah he's a 🤬 , but the moderators probably will not take to kindly to you calling out his name.. I know it sucks, but that's the rules.. But don't worry, if he used it for a time trial he will be banned soon enough.

I never really got into hybridding the first time around, but thanks to a very generous and good friend of mine, he has shown me the way of hybridding, and how its done properly with realism and attention to detail. I now have a good collection, thanks to him, but I would never think of using them to cheat. Matter of fact, I don't even go online with them, just enjoy them myself offline. That being said, I am of the same mindset as you when it comes to the time trials and other events. It really yanks my gears when I see these people using them to cheat these events. In my opinion, it is giving hybridders, such as my friend who does his hybrids with realism and also would never use them to cheat, a bad rap. Some people just automatically assume (not you) that hybridding is a bad thing because of these people abusing hybridding to cheat. IMO, hybridding is a good thing (gives new life to an aging game) if done properly and kept to yourself or amongst your friends and not used to cheat events. I guess its like a double edge sword tho, gotta take the bad with the good. Just my thoughts and feelings about the subject.

Absolutely pathetic how low people have to go in order to achieve a goal. People like that killed off hybriding in the first place. If I ever see that punk in a lobby I'll be sure to call him out.

Yep. This is the reason why. The person is clearly a prick. I still don't understand why people would rather cheat, than actually do a race legitimately. And it's cars like that I kick out of my rooms. Unrealistic piece of crap same as the driver.

But what can you do.

Reminds me of the Level 4 CoD players with 10000000000000 kill stats. Just ruins the fun and point, and you can never tell who is actually good or who just cheated

Why no console bann?
I bet same dude was earlier TT top10.

PD cannot console bann him. They alone do not have the authority to do so. They can only profile bann.

I know that but I'm damn sure if they ask from sony bann console they do it in minute.

Completely lame, I'm not really into hybrids, I only had 2 (the 100k bull and a 6000hp HEP), but this is the kind of stuff that makes people really mad (I see and enter a considerable amount of rooms with hacked cars, but I only watch them in spectator mode and other guys don't seem to be annoyed with the ridiculous hacks)

These people obviously hate hybrids and want PD to get rid of them again, looking at their obvious troll names, which we can't mention

Of course, but the problem is the difference between Sony's and PD's ToS. It is all up to them.

Yeah, not everyone hates them. I have been in a few drift lobbies where a couple people are totally against them.

I always like to help people look at the big picture of hybridding. Which when I tell them what I actually do with my hybrids, they start to warm up to them.

I try to keep mine as realistic as I can. For example, all I do is drive train swaps and engine swaps. I never do chassis swaps. Only one I have ever done, which was putting a Enfini FD RX7 chassis under a Spirit R FD RX7. When I explain this usually I get a reply "Ok, I respect that you keep them realistic to real life standards. I may give them a try in the future.". Some don't see it that way though.

Which I value everyone's opinion on the subject. The only thing I try to do is give everyone a look at every aspect, then let them decide. I just hate it when people see stuff like this, then judge hybriding in general on that one aspect. Like the old saying goes "knowledge is power" no pun intended.

I did the same thing to people like GTP_CARGORAT for example. After I explained this very same thing to him, he understood more about the subject. He still chose to not do any kind of hybriding besides painting the un-paintable cars. Which is fine with me, I respect his choice in doing so.

There are many great aspects of hybridding besides the swaps and painting. I learned a lot myself on how this game works. I spent hours on end testing things like the hidden tires and posted my finding here.
I learned why many of the cars handled the way they did just by testing these tires. Which others found interesting. It also provided people a better understanding of what these things do.

Overall, hybridding is a good thing. But when used in this wrong way like the guy in the OP, that's where the bad side shows through.

As usual, one idiot will ruin it for all.Too bad, but sooner or later something is going to give. All your work will be gone.

True. But was it worth it? Yes it was. :)

I'm just gonna update GT5 on my other hhd and keep at 2.14 on other.(I'm pretty sure there is patch coming  )
So nothing is gone 👍

Oh yeah it will. I wonder if I will be able to guess when though. I was right last time .

Same here. I think I'm just going to get my other PS3 fixed (laser) and use it strictly for online activities. I'm getting way too many great hybrids which I am enjoying to be losing them because of a patch. The cheaters are just a nasty by-product of responsible hybridding.

Well said Mitch. When put in the wrong hands, it can get ugly...

I don't care so much what players do so long as they do it without ever interacting with the community. As soon as a player starts mingling with other players, not playing by the rules is unfair to people playing the game properly. It wouldn't be so bad if we could somehow force hackers to remain segregated from legit players, but identifying a lobby as "hacked cars" is up to the player and not guaranteed.

Thank you very much you @$$****. Now I bet we'll be getting "borrowed" cars in TT again... :grumpy:

I think this is better than driving your own cars, a good tuner has an unfair advantage against the ones who are clueless about it, in fact, "borrowing" PD's cars is easier to spot skilled drivers than good tunes

How exactly is putting hours and hours of work into learning how to tune well and tune a car to your preference "unfair"?

OT: I can't believe after hacking got taken down because of this behaviour people are already being muppets and doing it again..

Honestly do people just not have common sense when it comes to these matters?

I think you have no idea how either cars, racing, knowledge, or skill work.

Tuning is the point of Gran Turismo. If you do not learn to tune, you're playing "stock" by its literal definition (gt has a term for this: "normal"), or you're not playing the game very well.

This fake "outcry" against "elitism" is going to be the end of knowledge and wisdom.

I completely understand your point, but that would be fine for a competition like GT Academy. The game itself is meant for us to have fun comparing not only our driving skills but also our tunning techniques (even if mine are terrible and really mild tunes) against other players. I don't really care if I don't get even near the first 8000-10000 places, but I find it really satisfactory to have an excuse to use my own cars and get a good time with them.

It's basically what UrieHusky said. What good it is to spend hours practicing and tunning your car to your own likings if you can't use it?

I actually find cars like the Fiat 500 with a Red Bull chassis pretty funny. Surprisingly good looking on a Mercedes Benz 300SL.

But I can not stand people that use cars with obnoxious amounts of horsepower anymore. It was fun with the 3K Civic when it first came out, but now it's just plain stupid. I have several theories as to why the person was using a hacked car to win the seasonal:

1: They wanted the absolute best time
2: They wanted to be a troll and ruin the fun for players who usually dominate the leaderboards with regular cars
3: They actually hate hybrids and this is their way of getting PD's attention to ban hybrids again

This third theory is the one that angers me the most.

People do whatever they like to cars in real life. Why is it so different with a video game? In real life they set up regulations in motorsport so certain things can not be done to even the playing field. Why can this not be done in a video game? Yeah, some people ruin it with the 100,000 hp cars, but if the idea of hybriding was accepted instead of stifled, then you would not run into these issues. It is like real life in one aspect though, and that is we cater to the lowest common denominator. A few people bitch and you have to do something. It's sad. If you don't like a certain aspect, set the regulations so that specific parameter can not be exceeded and shut the **** up.
