UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
Tried using the system restore disk that came with it, worked fine, but as soon as i did it, it came back up with the message about how i wanted to start windows. When i started windows in safe mode, it said the installation was incomplete. It said it was complete when i had finished installing it! I think it needs to be opened in normal windows mode to finish the installation off, which it currently won't do thanks to it's annoying message.
Useless thing. Atleast i can say i have tried everything to the helpline now.
As you probably know, my Toshiba laptop has been giving me problems for quite a while now, but this just tops all the records.
My bro came round the other day to fix our central heating (he's a plumber), and i told him that the laptop was going wrong, and that it was getting very hot.
He had a go at fixing the software problems, and within 5 minutes, it was beggining to overheat. We both thought it was getting extremely hot, considering it had only been on for 5-10 mins. So he had a brainwave, and rushed out to his van, and brought back this specialised thermometer. He fed the little sensitive bit into the back of the laptop, about half an inch in.
As we were trying to fix it, we watched the temperature rise to 50, yes 50, degrees celcius. A few minutes later when we looked at, it had risen to 60 degrees celcius!
There is SERIOUSLY something wrong - 60 degrees in 20 minutes! And 50 degrees in 5 minutes!
