As has been posted over and over and over again...
The release date is unknown. This means that the date given by whatever retailer that you've ordered from is an intelligent guess, but nothing more than a guess.
If it goes gold in April, expect it 2 months earlier than the date given.
 
yea it's weird cuz best buy keeps changen it......they should just leave it till there's an official release date........
 
It's an advertising ploy to get people more and more excited for the game. The more it gets pushed back, the more people want to know about it, and will in turn buy it when it comes out.
 
Actually, that only works over a short period of time, people in general are impatient and if it takes too long they will lose interest in it. Also you have to consider that the official unveiling of the PS3 isn't too far away, and if PD want people impressed with GT4 when it comes out, it will need to be out by then, because when everyone gets a glimpse at what the PS3 will do, everything on the PS2 will become second rate automatically, also you have to consider the media, which storey is bigger, GT4 or PS3. Obviousely PS3 will get the headlines and GT4 would be given less coverage. It really needs to be out before July from a marketing point of view, also you have all the kids starting their hollidays which is ideal for sales.
 
Not to stray too far from the subject, but I think Sony lost a big opportunity in America to release the GTC series and Prologue to fill in the gap between GT3/4. I certainly would have been happy to purchase the mini games until GT4 came out. Oh well, GT4 will get here soon and that should keep me busy another... 4 years or so?
 
just give up on trying to predict or expect a particular release date, roll with the punches

Over here the football season started months ago, it's getting towards the end now.
 
give up on what, i'm just stating what best buy is telling me...
 
The first date of Fall. Could be the last day, or even in Winter when this game becomes available.
