What do you think will happen if you soak your cars air filter with alcohol? or just having a puddle of alcohol sitting in your air box...

lol, who wants to give it a shot?

:trouble:

I imagine there would be a large fire trailing from the spark plug back up to the air filter. External combustion, if you will....

The technical term for what will happen is "freakin huge engine fire".

This is an experiment best left for the guys and gals at "Monster Garage" on the Discovery channel. With the caveat "Don't try this at home".

You know how much we hate jargon, Gil!

Sometimes my "techie" side just has to come out.

Also, if the "freakin huge engine fire" travels down the fuel line, our "contestant also wins an all expenses paid trip to the county morgue. (unless a remote starter device is used).
Then our contestant gets a free "fonging" (see "A Knight's Tale" with Heath Ledger, for a technical expanation of "fonging")

Since everyone else has made it clear what a bad idea this is, let me ask why would you want to do this?

If you're thinking it will cool the intake air, you're right. It will slightly cool the intake air for about the first 1 second of operation, after which it will have all evaporated (it most likely will not catch on fire; after all, starting ether is much more flammable).

Most people who try to come up with cobbled-together 'improvements' to their intake systems don't seem to realize that a typical stree car engine needs anywhere from 300-600 CUBIC FEET of incoming air every minute.

Big Huge Freakin' Engine Fire.

Call the firefighters and tell them theres a BHFEF in front of you, they might get confused.

I'll give $50 to anyone who puts a bottle in their car that feeds pure O2 into the intake.;)

Am I the only one here who has mixed kool-aid into their gas? It sounds stupid, I know, but it doesn't hurt anything, and it sure makes the exhaust smell good.

Really? Pure sugar doesn't hurt your gas?

It would hurt your motor, if anything, not your gas.

How do you figure fully dissolved kool-aid could hurt anything?

put it on the driver seat :)
works get when the car is parked next to some ant hills.

I think he means just the koolaid packet, not the sugar.
Personally, I have found that red Kool-Aid mixed double strength (no sugar) makes a good brass cleaner. We used to use it in the Navy to clean the nozzles on the Firehoses. (no joke).

When i was in High school, i had a job working with a bunch of airmen on the base my dad was stationed at, that was one of the things that i learned too.

Anyways you guys know all this 'what to pour in someone's gas tank to make the car die" is covered in the jollyrogers cookbook right?
