thread subjects

What's the deal lately with people not using the Subject field right? Look at the threads we've got going on the front page right now:

This is probably nonsense, but...

now 4 the real question

None of them say a single thing about what the thread is about. This may sound a little picky, but that's five nonsense threads on the main page, and it makes things hard to navigate.

Which one is the muffler thread?
Which one is about steering wheels?
Which one is the prize car thread?
Which one is about rally tires?
Which one is about the RUF?

It's just a little annoying. I could really care less if someone started up a "How do you get 100%" thread every day, because if that's the title of the thread, I know what it's about, and I can choose not to click on it if I don't want to. When the subject isn't descriptive, though, I'll come back the next day and click on all the same links all over again, because I'm thinking, "Hmm, what was that thread about?" then I end up with a thread I've already read five times and responded to.

It's especially annoying when GTP is running slowly and I have to wait 30 seconds for the thread to pop up.

I'm not trying to sound like an ass, and I don't mean to single anybody out. I'm just saying it would be much appreciated if everybody would put an extra half-second of thought into filling out the Subject field when they start a thread.

You make a good point, but is this really the right thread to post it in? I know what you mean though, by the messed up subjects. I've wasted a lot of time on GTP trying to decipher the subject.

Do I ever agree with you . . . it's terrible . . . . . . do I ever agree when GTP is running slow and it takes awhile to pop up and I'm on cable, this crap shouldn't happen!!!

I would've named this thread Inaccurate Thread Titles, or something, and included thread subjects in the list of them.

How clever. I know you're just trying to be obnoxious, but allow me to explain anyway. Any of these would be valid subjects for this thread:

thrad subjects
invalid thread subjects
Why so many invalid thread subjects?

Just because I chose the simplest one doesn't make it wrong. Thread subjects are, in fact, what this thread is about. In contrast, I can very easily point out where the subjects I mentioned above are totally irrelevant to the actual subject matter of those threads.

I mean, honestly, it doesn't take a PhD in English to understand what the subject of a thread is. For your comment to be at all valid, I would've had to have named this thread "What's the deal."

It's not about GT3, but it's certainly about this forum.

There's really no need to get all defensive. You have over 3000 posts, but you rarely contribute in any capacity other than making 2-word posts such as "bite me" or "fiats rock". I have no idea what you've done to remain in the good graces of the mods, but there's no way you could actually defend 90% of the posts you make, so please don't bother trying to turn this into a 5-page nonsensical flame thread.

it was sarcasm

I remain in the good graces of the mods because i obey the rules of the forum at all times and I dont go out of my way to create posts that are designed to insult. I am always freindly and never try to upset ppl.
simply put, I do not go out of my way to post offensive threads. Ppl here have either learned to ignore me or go along with my "jokes". feel free to ignore me if thats what you want.

all you have to do is click on my name in one of my useless posts and then click on (add to ignore list" down the bottom of the page.
I will then no longer be a problem to you.

I think that someone needs to realize that the game has been out about 2 years now & that all the possible topics have been done & re-done. I guarantee you that every thread on this page (even yours) can be found in similar form in the back pages. This is not necessarily a bad thing, new people come on & post a thread. I have the choice to read and/or respond. I don't waste my time getting annoyed about it. In fact, 99% of my posts lately have peen in the Off-Topic area.
Once GT 4 comes out, that's when we'll really start flowing.

I think this is in the right forum because I gaurentee the people that are usually responsible for this won't go to the rumble strip to read someone complaining about their style of posting. If it's here it'll bring it to the attention of alot of people, which will detur the "culprits" from continuing.
