Threads not loading

I was wondering if anybody could offer some advice, was at the girlfriends place yesterday and while she was in the shower i was on GTP but I kept running into a rather strange problem.

The main forum page loaded fine and the individual forums loaded without issue also but when i went to open a thread I would just get a blank white page (it wasn't the typical screen to say that the page was not found, the screen was totally blank.) I could see in the status bar that images, etc. were loading but after a while that stopped and all i could see was a blank white page.

I've never experienced this problem at home so i think it may have been her computer, but have never experienced any problems viewing other web sites on her computer prior to this.

The computer is using Internet explorer if that helps solve the problem.
 
I wish I could provide you with an answer, but I can't. However, I experience the very same thing that you are talking about. Although I don't experience this on my home PC, but I do on my work PC every time.
While the thread will always load up, it takes a very long time in some instances.

Jordan should be along soon and will able to provide some answers.
 
I'm afraid I don't have a definite answer. The one thing that I think could actually affect it may or may not be causing the problem, but there's a good chance it isn't. Have you ever experienced the problem using GTP Lite, boom?
 
I wasn't using GTP Lite at the time. It's a bit odd but no big deal, i don't go onto GTP very often are her place anyway. Oh well thanks anyway.

Sorry for my delayed response.

I've never used GTP Lite, but from your suggestion, I switched over to GTP Lite while I'm at work, and issue solved. 👍

I guess a T1 connection shared through a 350 room hotel isn't really gonna be that fast huh! :indiff:
 
Well, the bandwidth needed for the full style isn't really the main reason I wanted you to try it out. When creating GTP6, I overlooked the fact that IE will not display the contents of a table until all of the code has loaded for it. Therefore, when the entire page contents is enclosed in a table, you'll have to wait for the entire page to load before anything will be displayed. I'm going to try and fix it as soon as I can. If I can't, then we'll have to wait until GTP7.
