I think I may be having a very senior moment here, but I can't for the life of me work out what's going wrong.

I used to drive using my triggers for accel/brake - but changed them at some point for my brother in law to try (he prefers buttons).

I got myself a wheel so I've not used my pad for a while - but last week I tried to set it back, but whilst the settings appear to be correct - when I try to race, the triggers have no effect. I tried binding them to other functions (horn etc) to test and they all work fine, but accel/brake dont.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I need to do - or what really stupid/obvious thing I'm doing wrong??

If you have your wheel hooked up, the gas/brake won't work on the controller.

I could've sworn everything works on mine except steering. I've seen it not want to keep my changes before but never had buttons not work as mapped. Are you sure it's not a controller port number issue?

When I tried it, I didn't have the wheel connected (but I may be mistaken). Certainly the standard buttons worked for gas/brake, just not when the triggers were configured. I also tried with the standard buttons bound to different functions (in case it was a problem having both configured for gas/brake).

Totally confused ... maybe I will have another look at it tonight and see if I can work it out.

I thought it might have been - but my pad was set as 1 (I didn't have my other controller on and as I said above, I don't think I had the wheel connected IIRC) and I even duplicated the mappings on the second controller setup just in case.

The mappings are also still correct when I go back to the settings page - so it's not, not saving them.

Never experience something like it, however try to reseting to default both mappings (Wheel & pad) maybe it's a bug.. yet to be discovered by PD

Try hitting the default button configuration in your controller settings first then try it out also make sure the wheel is not plugged into the PS3 don't just unplug the power.

If the controller is still not working try it in another game to see if it's really going bad. Also make sure the controller is connect in the correct slot( Player 1/player 2 example)
