so here goes, the crew:

the family one, '56 Series One SWB hybrid w/ series 2 running gear, 6 year restoration recently finished :D now gonna get muddy at last! does have a hardtop roof but ragtop for the summer :D

the leader's Series One LWB

Series One LWB Station Wagon

theres always gotta be one with a V8 :D not that youd know when its turned off

Ex-MOD 109 with all the kit
there was another one that joined later at the pub which we were behind so its in all the pics

getting there...

track getting smaller...sploosh! some bits were a tiny bit overgrown
i gave up taking pics it got a bit hectic so i did the rest in vids, but heres the result, there, thats more like it :D

lil watersplash(4.5mb)

water from above :dopey:(1.1mb) i was hanging out the back :D

hope you like, we all had a blast throwing these ancient machines around the countryside, its what they were built for!!!

I like much more UAZ.Very good russian cars(are produced to these days),which are good on every land and you don't worry about its scratches, because you know that it's only to ride in hard ground.

maybe over there, but in UK an old Land Rover is the off roader of choice, the army still uses Series 3s and Defenders for years

Meh, I could do that in my Mini.

:p

OK, maybe not. Looks like you had fun though.

Some nice Landies there!

This is the only Defender I've ever driven - it's an '89 110, I think, with a V8 in it.

lol yeh, i think youd drown. amazingly down these tracks some gyspys were living, while most of their lot was landies there were some rather muddy road cars too :scared:

Hehe I once went across a freshly ploughed field (going across the plough 'stripes'...) What I would have done to have not been in the back on a bench seat... :ouch: but still it was funny and I got to fire a small gauge shotgun (was only about 10).

On a more recent note, theres a kick arse Land Rover around here with fat tyres and what must be a V8 'cause it sounds gorgeous and goes quick (for a Land Rover) :D

There's loads of Land Rover 90s in my area.

Originally I though that only thoe with snorkels were hard core Off roaders. Then I realised most of the ones I saw were spot-lessley clean :irked:

yeh v8 "street" landies are quite popular, dressed up usually in bright colors and loads of lights too, and with those strange things called seatbelts, my mates just finished one and he put tailpipes from a buick riviera hanging out back :dopey:  anyway, some of em clean theirs now and then so i wouldnt put that down to the fact they dont use em
