Thrustmaster Ferrari challenge wheel (the cheap one). need help!

Just bought the Ferrari Challenge wheel and need help calibrating it. when i floor the accelerator engine rpm won't go over 50% as a result the car won't change gear and is stuck in 3rd (2nd if i slow down to much). i want to get used to racing with a wheel in automatic before i move on to changing gears manually, what am i doing wrong?

Thanks!

Not trying to be a mini mod but you would get more help if you posted in the correct forum. Try going > here < pretty sure someone would be able to give you some assistance 👍

Don't have that Ferrari wheel , but pedals should calibrate themselves if you press them few times before race. Full press then let foot of . That way game recognizes travel lenght of pedals from 0-max and calibrate . It works for supported wheels but that Ferrari thing is not officially supported.:( Does GT recognize wheel as any other supported wheel (tx?) or gamepad?

Also ,as soon try to learn driving with "manual" because "auto" is nowhere competitive :D

My first wheel was one of these. It's not officially supported but it worked fine in GT5. I haven't used it in GT6. You can tell if it's calibrated from the throttle display in the HUD. If it is not going up to 100% when you fully depress the pedal then there is a problem. It may be that it just won't work with GT6. If you have GT5 you could try it with that and if it still doesn't work correctly it could be that it is faulty.

Did you get that wheel to work? If so how do you like it? I just don't want to shell out a couple hundred bucks for a steering wheel so I was looking at this one too...any feedback would be helpful thanx

does this thing come with a power cable?

the way i usually do it with my g25 is press gas fully and release slowly, i do the same with the brakes.
(when first on track)

You get what you pay for. It's a toy wheel to be honest. If it's all you can afford it's better than nothing but there's no force feedback, just spring-loaded centering, and it's only about 270 degrees rotation. The pedals are poor and the whole thing is fairly flimsy. Having said that I had a lot of fun with mine before I broke it, which didn't take long unfortunately. Even if you are strapped for cash I'd recommend saving up for a DFGT, which is a much better wheel and not that much more expensive.

Point taken I was being cheap but if a good makes playing the game more fun then I will spend the $$ on a better one...thanks for the input

Question for you: did the wheel make a big difference in game play for you?

I'm not the best person to ask. I can't drive with a controller to save my life. I bought the Ferrari wheel as soon as I started playing GT5 and progressed to a DFGT when it broke. Now I have a G25. I think most people would agree that a wheel makes for a much richer experience though.

Thanks again...I will get a better one then but for now I got a date with my ds3 lol

I have one of these, cheap but fun! have u got the little light on the wheel to flash green? push in both pedals and press the pshome button then hold both gear paddles and tap the dpad! good luck OP, and go straight for MT, much more fun! anyone else using one? thoughts?

great little toy, but as soon as I can afford a dfgt I'm all over it!

Sorry i haven't got back to you sooner, haven't signed in for a while.

I did get it full working and it is fully compatible. but i don't like the wheel to be honest. if you are tight for cash it's better than nothing. but for that price there's obviously no force feedback, if you've only ever played the game in AUTO* the paddles take ALLOT of getting used to. i drive in R/L with always one hand on the stick, so paddles are completely alien to me. might not be for you, just doesn't do it for me.

If i get another wheel it will probably be the G27.
