Well, on saturday, I decided to go down to the GAME near where I live, and saw a Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Experience wheel for the brilliant price of £37.99, about $62USD and remembered that I wanted a wheel to try out. I bought it, brought it home and have put it together and began to use it. I also saw some strange brand I don't remember the name of and a Williams F1 wheels for the same price, which looked much cooler, but did not say that it was compatible with PS3, only PS2/PC, so didn't want to take any chances.
The build quality is quite high, and it fells quite well put together. It came with some pedals, which were easy to hook up. They are, however, quite stiff and at a strange angle, so a bit annoying for a guy with UK size 11 feet, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. They do stick to the floor incredibly well, although that may just be the carpet I'm using them on.
The paddle on the wheel have definitely converted me from an Automatic driver to a Manual, which makes me feel much more in control. One minor problem is that the wheels has to be jerked quite hard to get it to turn the car, even with the Controller sensitivity set to 7.
I also have to keep it between my legs, as I don't have a stand, but I don't know much about those.
But despite the shortcomings, I think it was a £40 well spent. I may upgrade to a DFGT or even a G25/7 if I can find a place to put it.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks.
