This should be an easy and cheap fabrication for you with a little help from your dad readyfe. Just remove existing plate, take measurements, and using some thick poster paper make a template. Transfer onto a smooth 14ga* piece of steel (carbon fiber vinyl wrap works best on smooth surfaces) and wrap it. A vise and wood may be needed for bending sides, I'm not familiar with the Thrustmaster design.

*estimate on gauge, may not need to be this thick.

In that facebook picture they've taken the foot plate section off completely and have just the upright. And it looks as though its just wrapped in vinyl as is. I've modified my pedals and built them into my rig for better tactile feed back, as the checker plate when hard mounted was noisy and you lose some feeling

Tinkering around just now I decided to remove the checker plate from the GamePod and also remove it off the pedals. While they both matched, I prefer the matte black look.

I may just wrap the black base with some CF vinyl or just leave it as is - however I don't like the upside down logo though..

Ordered the vinyl wrap today, i will just wrap the top metal base plate completely - comes off easily. I will try wrapping the checker plate also and see how that goes just for fun. If it works then I'll put it back on - Carbon Fibre Checker Plate... hmmm should be interesting!

The pedals come apart easily enough, and the top plate should turn out great. But when using vinyl I think you need a completely smooth surface. It's renowned for being difficult to work with. And even on smooth surfaces it can peal, so on uneven checker plate.....should be interesting :) If my father could weld I have him knock me up a knew mount for the pedals without the checker plate. Like an L shape with the pedals mounted to the back. Holes in the bottom to hard mount and then paint it or wrap it in vinyl.

Hey Carson, trying to understand your concept - sorry mate, trying to visualise it but can't.

Would you mind hand drawing it and uploading it or pm me ? My dads quite the perfectionsit so if I give him a small challenge now that he's retired he loves it.

I'll try drawing something and scan it today. Imagine the face plate with the Thrustmaster logo on the front, with a base plate coming towards you all one piece, in an L shape. Depending on how you prefer the pedals, either rally or formula style. The face plate of the original mount would be placed on top of your chosen piece of metal, all holes would be marked out and cut. The piece would either be long enough to bend becoming the "L" shape or be two pieces that are welded. Take the original apart and using all the screw to mount the pedals to the new mount (after priming and painting or adding vinyl) I don't know if its appealing but from a tactile point of view it would be much better, and hard mounting it with four bolts to your rig that way your feet are as close to the base shakers as possible. And I found the T500 pedals make some rattle which was annoying and I wasn't getting the feed back I had expected. So I did a similar mount in my build.

Look forward to seeing the drawing - Once I see it visually I'm sure it will make perfect sense... Went to your simology page to see your set up - love the rig..!

Well the Carbon Fibre vinyl arrive during the week and decided to give it a shot.

I found after it was all finished and almost perfect some spots started to pop up but overall not fussed. Learning to not be so much of a perfectionist as it only leads to disapointment.

Here's some pics.

Without the screws in:

With the screws in - probably did them a little tight as it was late and noticed it affected the vinyl as they're countersunk.
