Just unboxed my new T500, got it al hooked up to my PS3. It will not auto calibrate, the wheel turns 1/4 left and right, and none of the buttons function. I have plugged the wheel in the #1 USB slot with the PS3 on and off.

I have unplugged all of the plugs and reconnected them per the manual.

If I have to update firmware for use with a PS3 how do I do that? I only own a MacBook as well btw.

I am really frustrated. Please help. My Driving Force Pro worked fine if that matters.

Yes, I sure did. Frantically googling, and reading the through the massive T500 topic in the console forum here.

You might have better luck in there, it's the wheel forum. If nothing else a mod might move this post over there anyway.

As much as I hate to do it, sometimes calling tech support turns out okay.
Best of luck.

It's a relatively new wheel though, so I don't know how many people on the forum will have it and be able to offer much help.

I went to a friends house to use his PC. Firmware was version 32. Updated to 35. Went to control panel on PC. Wheel reacted the same way as it did on PS3.

Only turned about 1/4 turn left and right. None of the buttons, or pedals worked when pressed.

I can now get the wheel to function, but I have to manually spin the wheel fast to the left and the right. Then it returns to center and the force feed back, buttons and pedals will start to function.

If it wont return to center on its own, no functions work...

It's faulty, contact TM or the place you purchased it for a replacement.

I contacted TM via email, the suggested to turn the wheel all the way to the left, and plug it back into the PS3.

I turned the wheel all the way to the left prior to turning on my PS3 5 minutes ago, and it calibrated itself, and I was able to log on using the T500 buttons for the first time.

I will give it tonight, and see what happens, before sending back.

I think your wheel is defective.
When I first got mine, it calibrated with no problem, and I didn't even up-grade the firmware until a couple of days later.
This wheel is still very new and a lot of people, including myself, are having issues with it as well.
My wheel was messed up because whenever I turn the wheel during game-play and during menus, I could hear a loud knocking/cracking sound coming from the motor.
Anyways, if your problem persist, return it to the place of purchase.
Then if they can't replace it call TM.
If you contact TM right away, they will only offer to fix it.
