have you got a playseat/gamepod/gameracer etc as well?

reason I ask is I was just about to buy a T500 then noticed that the racing seats have a plate for pedals that is at an angle.
Can the plate be removed or did you have any difficulty attaching the pedals from the t500?

Thanks.

This has nothing to do with GT5.

Moved to Wheels and Cockpits.

The GamePOD frame has a flat floor area. The T500RS sits flat and has rubber non skid pads on it. On the GamePOD floor there are adjustable stops to bring the pedals closer or further away. GamePOD, best seat on the market bar none!

Thanks for the reply, I looked at the gamepod but didn't like the metal plates with the circular holes punched in. Looked a bit childish.

Thanks again for helping and you answered the point I was making about the plate the pedals attach to.

Probably would have gotten a better response i someone hadn't "helpfully" moved the thread.

What is "childish" about that? That makes no sense. It's just a mechanical design bro. 💡 It's easily one of the best designed seats on the market and reviewed on this forum stating the quality and craftsmanship is second to none, again, prob. your best choice and that's not to say all the others are bad choices, but it's prob. the best seat out there, next to the Rinoseat! I think you would do good to go for it.

Nah, let him get a non-child like seat instead. He will find out the hard way. Most of the other stands will be torn to shreds with the forces of the T500RS.
Seriously, does this look childlike?

works awesome with the playseat alcantara, wheel and whole setup is very firm and easily handles the forces from the t500.

How wide is the base of the wheel bracket? i have a similar frame I designed and it is similar to the GamePOD but only have a 12 inches wide platform for the wheel. I need to know if I would have to reconfigure my RIGG for a wider shelf.

Chill broskis, don't take my "childish" comment to heart, for it was but a mere observation.

That playseat setup looks killer though.

Compare to this:

everything else is "childish" :)

No, that's just crazy! Cool, but crazy.

I love that fact tho, you see these setups that cost thousands, and at the heart of them? G27. 👍

^What do the singstar mics do?

Looks like a sequential shifter and H shifter. Maybe a handbrake but why would he put a kareoke knob? Seriously though it looks like you could get electricuted if something went terribly wrong with all those wires. :sly: Very hardcore by the way. 👍

By chance, do you know where that set is located? heheheheh :D
Really nice though, i'm sure a lot of money and hard work went into that proud set up.

Trust me you dont want to decide what cockpit to get based on it having circular holes or not.

Gamepod certainly is not perfect but its one of the best cockpits on the market and uses full FIA approved raceseats. The new adapters for shifters and pedals allow it to have more versatility than many other cockpits too.

Talking of toys, sit on a Playseat (crrrreeeekkk) and then sit on a Gamepod.
Big difference in price yes but no comparision as to which one is better.

Gameracer is in between both in terms of build and quality.
Gamepod gets my vote everytime even if you were to buy the frame only and get your own seat on ebay etc.

^^^This, Playseats in my opinion are horrible. The bar between your legs, the flimsy seat, and for how much it weighs its not as solid as it should be. Was so happy to finally replace mine.

I mount my T500RS with and angle

Proto3-003.jpg

Yrah I did this too to my rig. I made a extension to mount to the GP rig that gave me an extra 6 inches of travel and the angle of course. With my "child like hole punched" side rail seat mounts mounted back to the last set of holes. I can now scoot my seat all the way back and not touch the pedals. I am 6'1" by the way.

Haha.. still bothered about that holes ? :dunce:
Btw did you notice, when you mount the pedal on GT style, the accelerator pedal swings only within a millimeter gap with the stainless steel base plate.

Not if you raise the pedal a notch. About the side panels you know the ones with the "childish looking holes". Those holes are machine lathe cut and the material is of high end carbon powder coated almost an 8th of an inch thick. Here let me show you some pics from some of my mods.
HPIM3633.jpg

Thicker side mounts a must have while running the BKG2. With home made rubber isolators.
HPIM3631.jpg

Fabricated pedal extension.A bit on the dusty side, sorry.
HPIM3635.jpg

With the pedals at an angle.
HPIM3632.jpg

Solo BKG2. Soon to be double.
HPIM3636.jpg

The whole enchilada.

haha.. no need to explain to me, mate.. The picture speaks itself. 👍

About the pedals. I think.. you can hard mount it to your extension plate. There are hard mount points underneath the rubber pads.

Nice work VINCE with the pedal extension and have to say I think I prefer the black supports instead of the red ones.

Your home made isolators seem to be grand, what did you use for those and well you certainly looked to of saved yourself £30 / $40 + which is a bit much for what Gamepod charge for theirs. Sorry Ash @ Gamepod but thats a bit much really!

Heres a photo of 3 different ones:
Left - Right = Gamepod / Buttkicker / Clarke Tactile

Can you show us a close up of how your BKG2 is connected and does your cockpit have rubber isolators between the seat runners on your nice cockpit?

Mr Latte, I used some lab beaker plugs. They are a medium density rubber. I bought a few m8 screws about 2 inches long. Drilled holes through the plugs put washers on top and bottom then run the screws through the seat sliders. Using small washers and lock washers under the sliders. Works like a dream! Cost me about .75 cents.:)

Yeah VINCE, were basically talking a small bit of rubber, a washer, bolt and a nut.
Ive even seen some local rubber doorstoppers that could be drilled and costing nowhere near what some of the cockpit companies are charging.

Well yes, sort of in a way. No nut is needed though on the GP seat (Monaco) because the bolt is threaded in to the seat frame. A smaller washer and a lock washer will fit perfectly into the bottom side of the seat slider.

Mr Latte,
Here's a view from another angle. This time the BKGR2 is not installed. You can see the tubular under the seat.

Sorry OP, didn't mean to drag this thread even further.
