Been looking around and all the reasonable prices are sold out or awaiting stock with no date.

The ones left with stock are charging over the odds.

I know the T300 has just been showcased but not in the same league so is there a new version coming ?

The wheel is coming up for been 4 years old now is there a replacement.

T500RS pricing has always been very variable, as has stock. Around the GT6 launch for instance pricing was well over €100 more than usual and stock was very hard to find. Although admittedly this was partially demand and partially because they rebranded it and cleared up old stock (the GT6 branded T500RS comes with a number of cooling and robustness improvements over the original variant).

I suspect you're not the only Logitech user deciding to take the plunge in preparation for Driveclub and pCARS on the PS4 :)

That said, over here many webshops have stock, at perfectly reasonable prices: http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/279117/thrustmaster-t500-rs-zwart-pc-playstation-3.html

The T300 is a better wheel in every way than the T500, the only place where the T300 lacks is the pedals. The T300 is the replacement for the T500 which is the reason it was introduced on TM's T500 Facebook page.

Why is the T300 better than the T500. Curious.

The TX/T300 brushless motor is a LOT smoother. I own a T500RS and a TX. The T300 is practically identical to the TX except the rim and 1080 degrees instead of 900. Uses the same motor and belt system.

Just out of interest, would you happen to be primarily relying on GT6 experiences of the T500RS for this?

During my ownership of the T500RS I've noticed two things: (1) the wheel tends to feel more notchy if unused for a while, and smooths out again after some hours (2) GT6 seemed to enhance the notchiness in some way with the original FFB. Running various PC sims, GT5 or the new GT6 FFB give me far less feel of notchiness.

In my case I replaced a Fanatec GT2 with the T500RS and at first it felt notchier but that feeling subsided and it became very nearly as smooth.

Actually my experience came from most of the PC racing sims first, Assetto Corsa, Game Stock Car, rFactor 2, iRacing, R3E, NetKar Pro, etc, but some GT6 use also. These days, because I prefer the TX over the T500, I only use the T500 for GT5/GT6, and the TX for XBO and PC.

There's zero notchiness, or that gritty feel of the T500 brushed motor when turning a TX or T300.
