Just notice that Amazon currently having a discount selling at USD$482.45. It seems to me they are trying to clear their existing stock.

Is an update to Thrustmaster T500RS imminent? A product refresh seems reasonable as it has been the same wheel for over 3 years now.

Anyone heard anything lately? Or are they only releasing a "Senna" or GT 15 anniversary edition with a special wheel?

It might have been a temporary discount. Two of my friends bought it for $482.45 yesterday. Sorry if you missed out. ;)

So maybe not update to T500RS then ?

The T500RS was just updated with the GT6 re-brand. Amazon was probably just unloading some of the previous GT5 branded wheels they found at the back of one of their warehouses.

Make sure you get your friends to check their wheels. With the GT6 re-brand came some improvements to the motor, apparently eliminating the cogging found in earlier versions. However, a few of the later GT5 branded wheels received these improvements as well.

We'll find out soon . Wouldn't it be great though if there was a new model coming soon. The minor update was more like fixes from current generation. Things like:
  • Overhaul the case design with focus on cooling with quieter fan (
  • Wheel paddles can be easily configured from static to move with the wheel based on user preference.
  • Vibration motors on both the wheel base and pedals
  • BasherBoard pedal mod by default and swappable to load cell (for those who don't want ongoing cost for replacements)
  • Completely open up the eco-system with extra ports at the wheel base for stick shifter, handbrake, rpm indicators and a generic data etc. to make the system truly unlimited expandability and potential
The list goes on and on...

I suspect Mad Catz Pro Racing Wheel (if it's as good as T500RS when it comes out in June) will be targeting the G27 users looking at upgrading their wheel. Who knows, considering they push back their launch date from Feb to June, gives me hope that they might also be targeting PS4/PS3/PC platform. Wouldn't that be wonderful!

Unfortunately CSW (Fanatec Clubsports wheel) was a bit overpriced even though their design is the best looking wheel. But their track record with reliabilty and their customer service really turn people off.

Since you started a wish list :p

Improved clutch like on the clubsports
Proper hydraulic load cell brake
Bigger brake pedal
Shifters that move with the wheel
Leather wheel, not the horrible rubber that is currently used
Shifter SLI lights

Maybe not after all. On ISR someone responded my post on this and apparently this is more an Amazon tactic on product price fluctuations.

Found a site that monitors product prices and apparently the price went down to as low as $350 in Nov 12 and $450 Nov 13 for half a month. Pretty interesting (sorry I'm not a heavy shopper on Amazon and this is the first time I heard about this)

Seems like "our wish list" not going to happen anytime soon.

I have zero experience with Fanatec Clubsport pedals, so I'll take your word on that.

Proper hydraulic load cell brake

Yes. I am still meaning to buy the Bodin Solutions load cell.

Bigger brake pedal

I can't heel-and-toe worth a crap on the stock pedal, I'm searching for one.

(If anyone can recommend one that I can just put on without any drilling, that would be greatly appreciated.)

Shifters that move with the wheel

I absolutely hate static paddles, my hatred was further increased with this. Thankfully, the 2 wheels you can buy (Ferrari 458 Challenge and F1 wheel) both have paddles mounted on the wheel, so my blood pressure has leveled off.

Leather wheel, not the horrible rubber that is currently used

I find the rubber to be quite grippy (I don't bother with gloves), but leather would definitely feel better.

Shifter SLI lights

This would be so damn cool to have on the F1 wheel, it would be worth a price hike. On any of the other wheels, probably wouldn't need it. A separate mount to put them on top of the base would be nice. That indentation on the top would be the perfect place for it.

Check out Owens Racing, he makes a bigger brake pedal. Pics are posted in the t500RS thread.

Or alternatives have been posted that don't require drilling.

Had mine for over a year. Heel-toe delight.
Does what it is supposed to do very well.
