Hi, I'm on the verge of bying this wheel. I have a few questions though.

1. How will I know which version I'm getting? I can't see the version listed in the online stores. Is there any version I would like to avoid?

2. Will updating the firmware make it better for PS3 also, or is the firmware just for PC?

3. Just how much difference will I feel compared to my old G25? (Answer only those who have tested a G25 please).

4. Is the fan thing a common problem? Does it happen on all versions? Or is it just for the unlucky few?

1. It is written on the bottom side of the box next to a line of FCC logo's etc. Best to get the latest version of course (V5) but I had a V2 with only the fan issue.

2. The firmware will influence the device overall, no matter which supported machine it is connected to.

3. The difference is huge! No deadzone so no wobble on the straights. Belt drive makes the FFB far more direct and smoother. The powerful motor makes it turn as fast as a real car steering wheel would, which makes it easier to control the car in iffy situations. Also the force on the steering wheel due to the power is more realistic, but sometimes needs to be toned down since the motor can be too powerful. Compared to this, the G25 is too slow... too noisy... too wobbly... no direct and powerfull fast feedback and motors.

4. The fan is a common issue. I believe it's fixed in the latest version of the wheel but unsure. They over a solution. See my latest post in the Fan Noise thread for the reply I got from TM about the matter and how they offer to resolve it.

No it has not. I always search before posting. The problem is that that thread is just massive. I read some pages there already, but I don't want to spend the next the two weeks browsing through 5000 posts, if you know what I mean.
