Take a look at this piece on BBC's Top Gear comparing GT4 with real racing. In the game, GT4, Tiff Needle takes an Acura NSX to Laguna Seca and does 1'41.00". In real life, in a real NSX, he can only get 1'56.00" (and that is after 3 tries). I know that there will be a gap between real life times and simulated times simply because of the fear factor of killing yourself (well, or wrecking your car), but I didn't think it would be a 15 second gap. I question whether Mr. Needle and Top Gear had the correct setup in GT4. Simulation tires? TCS, ACM off? Was he in a stock NSX, or one comparably set up to the one he was driving in real life? I am going to try this myself and see what kind of times i get. Check out the video though, its pretty entertaining.
