I knew JDM.
Still not sure about the stance part.
So it's like Death Race 2000 with Japanese Domestic cars? :sly:

Lol that picture might not exactly explain it well, so here is a definition.
to adjust a car's camber, ride height, and spacing, so that the sidewall of the tire sits as flush as possible with the fender/quarter panel. A common trend and style impersonated on drift and show cars alike, originating from the older Japanese domestic market.

A stance is a style of tuning a car to make the Wheels come flush or near flush with the fenders. Ive only looked into it myself these last 2-3days, I guess "stance" is not to be confused with "hellaflush" though. Google them

As for the topic. I do a bit of eveything myself on gt5. I used to be into the drag scene for a while, Its fun for the reason that competition between people to see who can make the same car(s) faster than someone else. But with such a limited car choice (in my opinion) Drag racing got old pretty quick.

Now I use my wheel and Im into the drifting scene, though Ive always loved drifting. Drifting is just a way to have some fun in a new car and experience the raw power and see if you can control it.(In a nutshell)

I also look for Low-mid PP races, Shuffle races though. I dont like to look for standard races(not sure why). But if PD would implement a much more diverse racing style to accommodate everyone, you would see more people running the way they should. Drag strips for Drag Racers, D1GP or Drift tracks for Drifters, and Race Tracks for Racers.

Edit:Tree'd to the "stance" definition

??? ???

That's one complaint I don't have for gt5. There's so many cars I haven't even driven yet at all!

BTW: Thanks for the definitions. I've seen that "fresh as flush" in the leagues forum at some time. Had no clue what it was about either.
Never thought of tuning a car to make it look a certain odd way.

For Drag racing, almost any lobby you go in, its all the top end cars, everyone running the same common cars. Gets old. Then you have the like 80(exaggeration) similar models of skylines, lancers, etc.

Also at the same time, I would just like an open car choice, where I can pick cars I drive myself, or see daily. Cavaliers, Cobalts, The new model mustangs, chargers, challengers. Yes gt5 has over 1000cars, but with so many dupilicates with just slightly different names, (Skyline MNPII and MNPIII), Same style car. I'd just like more diversity.

Oh so you're not blaming the game specifically for not having a big enough car choice... you're laying blame with other players drag racing.
Well why doesn't someone change that?
I'll admit I know zip about drag racing. But I imagine it's just like any other racing - surely you could do it with any number of cars.

You can get lucky and find a room not running the big dog cars, but then people dont know what cars would run about the same times to race with. Usually you'll find a GTR BE, ACR, Enzo, Le Mans Quattro, few others in the high end races. Then come down people run Supras, Muscle cars, and a few other sports good. I mean its all in good competition and fun, but I just got bored with running the same people even though I've tuned probably 60+cars for drag racing.

PD really missed the boat by not having a drag track in the game. I've never gotten into it for that reason, but had they a 1/4 mile track, a tree, accurate times etc. I would have taken it up for sure.

Hey maybe it's time to start a petition or a campaign for more stuff huh? Actually have the company listen to their customers maybe?

Wasn't there a drag track in gt4?
I thought maybe there was, but to be honest I likely never used it.

Though I'm big on missing the gt4 tracks that didn't make it to gt5.
At least we have Motegi now.
But I still miss yosemite, seattle, that arifa whatever (seaside windy track), and ESPECIALLY the Driving Park Motorland! (That's the one where in gt4 the one make race w/ the Lupos - all the AIs would fall into the pit by accident every lap on that hinkky turn before the pit lane.)
That track was fantastic for small lower power cars. *sigh*

See? Now you've made me a little sad. I just got over the fact that PD cut out Hong Kong El Capitan and Seattle along with the rest. And the sea side track your talking about was a thing of love and hate for me. At least they got rid of that annoying air horn that would go off EVERY race.

I forgot about that.

Now I'm really reminiscing about the gt4 tracks.
Ah Driving Park Motorland!
Seattle's little "jump" area.
That crazy double turn on the curbing @ Hong Kong.

El Capitan...
I was to the real one... Still, loved the track.

Ah, the air horn...

Oh, no not the air horn.
