Oh and a little bit of Tyre Testing won't hurt to maybe Improve my Driving skills (or lack of them) but which Car ?
Ok stop laughing and Screaming out there will you theres a good reason for using this .
It handles like a Pig with 4 broken legs , its got the Aerodynamics of a Housebrick and its Dog Slow .
So first things first off to the Tuning Shop it goes to Updated
Full Stage 3 Engine , ECU , Race Air Filter
, Stage 3 lightening to remove some dead weight , Body Ridgidty and Lighter Windows ,Finally a Stage 2 Turbo does for the Engine
Exhaust , Gets the lot thrown at it except I get a Semi-Racing Tailpipe as I wan't it to still sound like a VW and not another Vaccum Cleaner
Drivetrain gets a Adjustable 6 Speed Gearbox , Semi Race Flywheel and Semi Race Clutch and a Adjustable LSD goes in for Good Measure
Next the chassis gets attacked Full Suspension Kit to make everything possible Adjustable
Tyres 3 Types all soft grade Race , Sport and Comfort
A quick Oil Change , Then for Overkill Lighter Wheels
Cape Ring is my Test Track and I enter it in the Clubman Cup in the Amatuer League
First thing is too tune it Suspension gets the most work Camber front is pulled out to 2 and the Rear too 3.5 Then its lowered to -70 which is the max it will go , the spings front and rear are Stiffened as is just about everything Suspension wise
Gear it (hopefully) for 130mph
Finally the Brakes now anyone who has done the Samba Challange will tell you how bad these things are and for some reason they love to swap ends if you jump on the Brakes so , I put 10 on the front an 0 (Zero) on the Rear . A bit radical but this is a Experiment so why not eh .
First Race out on Soft Race Slicks the Van Slaughters the Field and wins by well over 10 seconds , suprised I was..!!! , there again its got just over 190bhp now so that helps .
Second Race Out on Sport Soft Tyres . Again the Van wins the Race lap times drop 4 seconds only from 1.59.844 with Race Tyres too 2.03.985 . Ok I expected that but still not as bad as i thought
Finally the 3rd race with Comfort Softs , lets just say you have to be a lot more carefull with the throttle , mash it out of a corner and it'll swap ends rapidly , but laptimes only drop too 2.08.424 so roughly a 9 second difference
Why did I do this well just for fun and after I had Golded the Samba Challange i developed a soft spot for the Van , so to take a break from the relentless grind I fancied a bit a of a laugh
Next up is the Full Ring Lap i reckon i'll be able to time it for a full lap with a Sundial

but it'll be fun 👍
