Hey guys! This forum and a couple other's caught my eye while I was browsing cockpit idea's.. Over the past few weeks I have been taking note's off of peoples cockpits and trying to design one myself.. Im a bit sick of always having my G25 on my computer desk, it takes up quite a lot of space and gets annoying to move around all the time..

Here is my current setup, without the G25..

Intel Core i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz
Gigabyte Z68AP-D3
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 ram 2x4GB
Western Digital Caviar black 1.5TB HD
Western Digital My book studio 1TB X-HD
AMD Radeon HD 6770 1GB
Logitech E2060 Monitor
Razer Lycosa Keyboard
Cooler Master Inferno mouse
NZXT Phantom 410 Tower

With G25..

I plan to do some mods to the G25, Inspired by Chilicoke as many are.. Shifter mod, Maybe replacing g25 wheel with another 270mm aftermarket wheel, removing paddle shifters, Ebrake, reverse mounted pedals... Its all in my mind, hopefully one day I can have a setup as clean as some of the ones I have seen floating around the web but untill then this will have to do..
I will post more pics within the next few days once I start to quire items for my build.. Keep checking up for progress! Thanks!

[Please ignore the dirt marks on the images, my dslr's sensor is dirty :( ]

That's crazy that the warden allowed you to have posters in your cell.....LOL j/k.

Looking good, keep us updated. Some of the best times are when you are brainstorming and building your rig/setup. Then you reach a point when everything feels in place and you sit down to race and part of you would rather still be building it....at least that is what happens to me.

HAHAHA I actually laughed out loud at the first part. I have been thinking about some idea's/ways to start this but I am going to wait until I get the seat to build from there, I have a feeling it will make the whole building and setup easier.. Going to have some sketches up soon, maybe tonight.. I have ripped up most of them because I was not happy about it. (kind of a perfectionist haha) Stay tuned!

Today i removed the shifters behind the wheel. I am no longer bothered by those useless paddels and now it has a cleaner look, next up is the shifter mod.. I will probably post a few pictures of that when its all set and done.
I will be doing quite a few mods!

Anyways here is a few pics of the G25 :)

I love the look of your area, so clean and modern, like the McLaren factory.

Going from what you have now to a lay down style cockpit is a world of difference, go for it. 👍

Thanks, I like my room to look clean and matching.. I also love the smell of incense.. got those burning 24/7. :)
Within the next few days I am going to grab some supplies and start working!
I'll keep you guys posted. :)

Since my last post quite some progress has been made, about a day or two before my trip to Home Depot I spent a night drawing and measuring out the pieces on cardboard to see if I wanted to change anything before the real build began..

Measuring the heigh of the wheel stand/width/angles.. ( Yes, I am aware that my room has become a total mess of wires)

Then I made my way out to Home Depot and grabbed myself a sheet of plywood, four 2x2's, (Only came in 4 packs) 12 m6x10 bolts, washers and some rubber O's for the shifter mod.. My total price came to $56.70, not bad..

As soon as I got home I got my tools ready..

Then started marking out the final cuts on the wood..

Sadly, since then its been raining a bad storm outside so I have not had a chance to cut the wood.. But as soon as it stops raining im going to cut like a madman. I know it may not look like much right now but I can almost promise you that once it is done the majority of you will like it and hopefully some of you will be inspired off my design to make your own rig for a good price, you do not even need any wood work skills to make this because if you have the dimensions for each piece they can cut it free of charge when you purchase the plywood.. I will keep you posted when it stops raining! :)

**If anybody has a acurate sized cutout of the shape of the g25 shifter would you mind sending me that please? I'm having trouble matching the shape for the centre console..
