Time to kill off Pontiac: G8 and Solstice not to return.

They can fix the lag problem with a change of the turbo, or better yet, if they invest in a variable geometry setup, but given the reputation of the engine as a pretty strong unit already in the Solstice/Sky GMPD models, I think we could make a strong case for it in the Camaro. I seem to remember the argument being a bit peaky, and that for some reason it was hard to "get right" with a stick versus the slushbox, but I assume it would be re-tuned a bit for a Camaro or G8... Presumably with a bit more force down low versus the mid/high band.

I figure if GM can tune the power band, match it up to a six-speed automatic, they'll sell plenty of them and get good fuel numbers too. Like Joey pointed out, 260 BHP is more than enough for a solid "base" engine line, and with that already making 5 more BHP than the V6 offered in the base G8, I'd say go for it.
