GT5 has now been out for about 3 years if my memory serves me correctly,This game isnt new anymore, 99.9% of us have seen every car over a million.
We know what cars to use for different PP ranges if we want to win or what cars to use if we want a challange, weve seen all the tracks etc. etc.

Basically what im trying to say is there are no more surprises to be had from GT5, so then why do we still have a million credit send limit and a UCD where to find the car you want requires the patience of a saint?

I run a league so setting up league races specifically with expensive std cars means that anyone who hasnt got the car they need has to cycle the UCD over and over untill they are blue in the face to obtain the car, quite often they have the car needed but it will have the rigidity bar on it or a Engine/Weight Stage so need to find said car again, its why in public rooms you see the same old races being done again and again because for example getting everyone into a prohibited tune Ford GT40 Race Car ‘69 or somthing like that is impossible.

I understand the UCD plays its part when the game is new but maybe lose it and the 1 million credit limit when u reach A-spec and B-spec lvl 40, because for most of the people i know it just gets in the way now.

There was never any solid reason to put it in place to begin with and PD still did so, so I doubt there will be any reason given that PD would accept to take it away.

If the std car dealership slowly unlocked until you were lvl 40 and then you got access to all the cars then it would make more sense, but i also dont see PD changing it, they have some odd ideas that they stand behind.

It is better to remove the under "1.000.000 Credits Trade Restriction", that to use a glitch to permanent borrow a car.

Even with the glitch fixed it is ridiculous to have this restriction.
Like Toronado said, it shouldn`t have been made in the first place

There is a reason for the limit. I own over 1000 cars when last I played, having moved on about six months after release, and this included all the expensive cars. I got most of them before they started handing out millions of quick credits for Seasonals. I did this through the lack of a sending cap. I got the super-expensive cars for free, you see. When I say "all", this includes stuff like several of the Ferrari F1 cars in different colors, like one with a red T-cam and another with yellow, or a lighter and darker red. The cap made it so that you have to work a bit more for the super-expensive stuff.

I completely agree with the sentiments of the first post, it is a ridiculous restriction, as is the 1 car per day trade limit in my opinion. Considering this is supposed to be a simulator and a car collector's dream, I find it odd how only one used car dealership seems to exist for the entire world.

Last I remember, there were 5 used car dealerships on the 1 mile long street that I live on, all selling different vehicles, and more than 12 each as well (or however many the UCD holds).

I also don't recall any millionaires being told that they are only allowed to send a car worth under £/$1m somewhere else, or only one car per day. If you have the money, anything is possible.

We need to see the trade limit and trade cap disappear...
Not only did that kill legitament trade rooms for the most part, but it also makes me need to schedule" trades which is garbage..

Lewis you obviously see it the same way I do, Ive always thought the bare minimum they should do is let us buy and sell cars ourselves to other players. Like MOTORTRENDmitch was saying scheduling trades is a joke, to have a dedicated player to player buy/sell element to the game would aleviate a lot of these issues.

The trade limit is just like prohibition: it doesn't work and only creates and fosters a black market.

I didn't find out about the trade limit until I bought a Veyron for a friend as a gift and then couldn't send it to him. Now I'm stuck with an extra Veyron that I can't even sell to get my 2+mil back! So since people can't legitimately trade or sell these cars people have turned to hacking save files and using glitches (this is the black market as per my prohibition example.)

I'm sure that PD instituted such a policy to keep us all playing the game for as long as possible so they have longer to develop and sell DLC. If you're still playing then there's a chance that you might buy the DLC. If you're not playing they weren't going to get a DLC sale anyway so it makes no difference to PD. PD is a company and they don't really care if you're happy as long as they get paid.

Does anyone have a link to, or have an explanation for, why the limit was introduced in the first place? (*googling it*)

I started playing at Christmas (the year it was released), and by the time I actually decided to trade, I was made aware of the limit.
I'd like to know why it was introduced in the first place before I comment.

Thank you. ;)

Nobody really knows :boggled:

Your guess is as good as anyone's.

I would like to see it that the limit is removed when both players are above a certain game level (35? 40?) - then this removes some of the problems with duplicate accounts.

In my opinion, I could be wrong, but they kinda introduced the gifting system to keep people "busy" with GT5. (A-spec isn't that of a long-life challenge)
To collect all ~4300 car/model/color combo's it would take several years to complete. Which is needed to entertain their customers until GT6.
But they noticed the wild and active "trading" that people did and traded/collected 10 cars per day or more (me too)....so they limited it to extend the lifespan....

When I started to trade, days after release of GT5 in the Netherlands, I decided to start with most expensive and work my way down to the cheapest.
Lucky me, I collected all 1mio+ cars before the CR limit came.

Cheers

Smart guy you are, Mr. Orange.
I started later and the trading limits (1 Mio. and 1 car per account and 1 car per account and console) came shortly after. :(
With the borrow glitch trick 2.0 you don`t need to send anymore - just put the car online for your friend and he can "steal" it within 2 minutes - let`s say 6 in a row within 15 minutes. I don`t really feel limited right now. MAC user might think different though...

Hahaha  Sounds about right 👍

Thanks for the replies guys. ;)👍

I thought they introduced the limit to prevent people getting scammed out of their rare cars.

I support the 1,000,000 cap to be honest.

Without it would be like cod, and having a high level mate just send you the best guns in the game.

It would be like fallout with instant fast travel without having to discover the places first.

It makes you at least put some effort towards the cars you wanted. And now with seasona events it's stupidly easy to rocket your earnings sky high.

I remember back when GT released, I sent about 15 minutes scanning through the dealership to see what I would aim for as a second and third car, I did a few races and felt I had achieved something when I bought my brand new maserati and cruised it around ssr7 to enjoy the speed and the sound.

GT's kinda lost all that progression with the new seasonals, and most stuff just feels like a grind :/, so I see where you're coming from in that regard.

Opening up the limit would just make PD look like they are throwing in the towel with the role-playing and progression elements.

If you're desperate you can do the borrow glitch anyway.

Just spent $975k for a FTO Touring Car to transfer to my GTP account to make it less of a grind to get such cars and it won't let me transfer or sell the damned thing. If my math skills still holds 975k is less than 1 million but here I am screwed yet again.

That's because it's a used car, so the mileage brings down the value a little. As new, the car would cost one million credits, that's the price the trade limit reads.

At least that's my guess.

they need to let you send anythng and more than one and about the used car dealer i think they should let you pick more than one car at time to buy because it takes forever just to buy 1 car but if you want them all:) than it takes to long buy them all im up to 550 carsin my dealer and i want 1000 but it takes a hour just to buy 100 cars its stupid
