Looks like PD is aware of the hybrid cars went crazy online, now they give us the cars, so no possibility to tune :) Great news, now I looking forward for PD's next action.

I think PD has been reading this thread :)

And it's about time we have an event where cars cannot be tuned. PD, we know you're reading this thread. This is a good job. 👍

I made a thread in the Q and A section called: [post=8196746]Latest Seasonal: PD's first salvo in the war on hybrids?[/post]

You might want to move any discussion in that regard over there so as not to clutter up this thread:tup:

Oh, lovely.. A stock dodge viper, understeer with oversteer. My favourite dish!

It's clearly a reaction to the hacking but jesus.. I love vipers to death just.. not stock..

At least let me customise the LSD! *whine*

Outstanding. I hope that this is the first of many Seasonal Races in which those who choose to cheat are simply forced out of a leaderboard position.

I highly recommend mapping the RA menu to your controller so you can adjust the brake bias, I personally used 8 - 4. It helped kill the turn in understeer a bit 👍

Nice. I love driving stock cars anyway, great stuff PD. :) Hope this is the way TTs are gonna be now, giving me another reason to love TT & DT seasonals. ;)

50 laps done on Kart Space and I'm down to a 43.932. I've had some .7s going but I end up messing up a turn or getting a shortcut penalty :grumpy:

I also did 1 lap on Grand Valley and did a 2:03.912. I made a lot of mistakes trying to figure out the car on that lap.

I think every TT should be tuning prohibited. It puts everyone on a level playing field and the best drivers prevail. I might actually put some time into this one.

Just want to add my counter to this PD, bad job. It's one thing to get bonuses for no tuning, but to stop us from choosing the cars all together? Mistake imo, not a major one, and thankfully it's only the TT, which becomes 1-3 laps, earn a million bucks, thanks very much, just don't do it for the seasonals please, and if you do, just keep both because that's the best of all (preferably in the form of a non tuned bonus, eg stuck suspension, clutch ect power to weight remains the same).

I agree and for the same reason I think I will also have a go at this :D

After a couple tries I got Gold on each of the two events. By no means were they close to the world record but I did enjoy the laps. I may go back and try to better my time by finding the limits of each car but I'm just glad to have them completed at this point. Tuning would be nice but if this puts everyone on a level playing field I'll do without... ya know the old saying "if you give them an inch they'll take a mile."

Sark

I'm in favour of an event where you are given a stock car and just have to get on with it. There is an argument for those who can successfully tune to eke out an advantage but why not put everyone on a level playing field for once so that pure driving skill is tested? The fact is that those guys who have the most driving skill will still head the leader boards ... TC Amo is top as I write this.

Uh, question, shouldn't 8 - 4 brake bias cause the understeer even more? Are you sure it's not 4 - 8? Sorry, I'm noob on tuning.

Anyway, what is RA menu? So new to this.

TT 57 begins or as we like to call it the TC-AMO87 show :-D , come on Doodlemonoply bring it back to the USA !

If it's possible it would be nice to have one leaderbord for tuned cars and one for untuned or at least a column on the bord with some kind of marker for a tuned/untuned car.
I like the idea of all playing at the exact same rules, but at the same time tuning is definitely part of the game.

Glad to see a fellow filipino interested in doing TTs. 👍

It's a way of adjusting things like brake balance, traction control whilst you are in the race. You have to map the RA function to your wheel/controller buttons. For example, I activate the RA menu using L3 on my DS3 and then use the D-pad buttons to select the item (Up/Down) and set the values (Left/Right). As Urie suggested, having access to the RA menu is highly recommended 👍

You know why PD has chosen this option, IMO the best one he could choose for now. And if I would be pulling the strings at PD, it would stay like that untill every hacked car is out of the game.....

Looking forward to this one, especially as we're all on a level playing field. I was about 2000 and something in the lambo tt, but I know I could have done better if I knew how to tune properly.

I think as a temporary precaution to the other users, this makes the playing field controlled and fair, which is a very good thing. And, if PP were modifyable, this is definitely a good long term measure.

But the more you think about it, the less it makes sense, to a certain degree. If we have a 750pp event, and I used a hacked Mk IV GTI RM... but I was still within 750pp, am I doing anything wrong by competing in that event? Assuming I 'm not using a car with altered PP, standard calcs, within the limit, and I'm competitive - so what?

But to avoid cheating, which imo is the only thing that hacking makes available... although I don't see directly how 'yet', this certainly does that, I just hope that by the seasonals they don't limit the car to just 1, and they instead give a bonus for not tuning, I think that'd be awesome too.

Hey Conza please don't think this is a dig at you personally but it is a dig at the mentality you speak about. You seem to be justifying the illegal practice of modifying a copyrighted and protected game simply by saying something to the effect "well it's within the PP limits so what's the harm"? I'm getting a little tired of folks justifying theirs action over these illegally modified cars by claiming they are not hurting anyone because of this or that. If you have an illegally modified car there is NO justification for having it or using it plain and simple!

It has nothing to do with being sporting or cheating it's ILLEGAL!!!! Why don't folks get that? If PD want to exercise the full extend of the law, which I doubt, then individuals could get hauled up in court and even sent to Jail. Modifying protected and copyrighted software is a very serious offence!

I don't like these kinds of TTs. Tuning is such a big part of Gran Turismo, turning it off just makes it very, very boring in my opinion. I don't believe in this 'level playing field' people talk about here. Whether tuning is turned on or off, there's always a level playing field in TTs. You can just put in some effort and find or create your own tune. It just takes a bit more effort, but don't tell me that having no tuning creates a level playing field all of a sudden.

If this is PD's way to counter hacked cars, so be it. Together with forced SRF in the catch-up seasonals they are removing all depth from the seasonal events tho.

Just my two cents.

Agree, save files is part of the game software, when we bought the game we only bought the license to use the game within the confines of the agreed terms of use and service that all of us must follow in order to play the game legally. If someone break that by decrypting ( breaking the security protection ) the save file, modify it regardless of purpose ( fun or unfair advantage ) is considered as breach to license agreement.

The moral of this is simple, we see the true colors and maturity of a person's integrity when he made the right decision for not breaking the agreement, no matter the reason/excuse/temptation to do otherwise.

Sorry for being off topic.

Nice change as far as I am concerned, and I doubt it's a permanent feature.

You pays the money and you plays the game.

Couldn't be simpler.

UrieHusky,

But if the car must be stock, can i use de RA menu to adjust the brakes?

Cheers...

I have always been interested in how PD determine the bronze, silver and gold times.
💡 Maybe there are three staff at PD with "bronze" ,"silver" and "gold" as their nick names.:D
Gotta discuss something in this thread as there is no tuning to do, or cars to pick. Not that I really mind.
