Saw a lot of people getting some very good times at Spa. I blame y'all for bumping me down to silver. /shakesfist

Unfortunately I'm not able to keep up with the thread anymore. Therefore please excuse my ignorance if this has been discussed already.

Is the the Spa TT dumb as hell? It doesn't seem to be about racing skills but rather about the ability to activate the active aero just enough while not getting into the insane oversteer once you pull the trigger.

I'm usually not whining about something being not realistic enough but I guess I am indeed whining here. What does this have to do with racing a car?

(Disclaimer: I'm stuck in silver because hitting apexes while fine tuning my throttle inputs mid corner on a pad is hard)

Exactly how I'm feeling. My girls sometimes play Stardew Valley, and there is this fishing minigame where you have to keep the fish within the constraints of a small moving bar by pushing a button at the right times. This feels more like that than actual driving. ;) And when you do get it right, there's no real sense of accomplishment either.

Holy crap what an ordeal this was! I'm going to be pretty chafed if some damn dirty alien comes along and pushes me out of this gold! :irked:

I'm surprised you struggled with it as you're usually a touch faster than me and I hit the same time as you after 6 or 7 laps. The game right now is really obsessed with "rolling turn in", it is severely over exaggerated on the 911 because of the rear engine thing. If you try and trail brake it is just understeer city, gotta lift early and coast through corners and the nose tucks in.

Good afternoon racers

Been away, contending with some family illness issues, and thus had little time for lapping, it's kinda ok though as I'm not really feeling either the RUF of Hyundai 'what even is this thing' VGT events.

I like the RUF as a car, but I ain't got the patience for its slidy bum, so I will settle for being well into Gold. I'll try to gold the VGT, but if I do, that's it, it pains me that such a legendary track has such a gimmicky and frankly crazy car on it.

Roll on tomorrow...

Alright fellas! Manic week for me so far and just managed to jump on the cockpit at midnight to try and get a decent time on the board at Fuji. Not my fave but there is some fun car control when you get it right!

Sadly the real world didn’t go so well after my track car broke down.. on the way to the track. Some panic later and the poor retired garage queen was out peddling round Oulton Park… big brave pills!

Ditto, far from a favourite but managed a 41 in the end. S3 still wasn’t particularly good but I suppose it wasn’t a complete atrocity either given I got another top 100 in the books at least. The RUF RGT was a fun car but this game is heavily in need of more tracks. At this point I find myself feeling disappointed no matter what track turns up. Feels like we’ve been everywhere hundreds of times...

Very frustrating session at Fuji. Just wasn't quite able to crack into the sub 42s, although I'm sure the lap was in there somewhere.

The RUF was definitely enjoyable to drive, although the trail braking in sector 3 was definitely a severe weakness, it just does not seem to want to turn while there is anything more than slight brake pressure.

Was happy with my laps until I got to S3, and especially the exit of the final corner where I lose boatloads of time to the ghost. I was never able to get the car rotated consistently to get a good exit. Trying to take any of the corners in S3 consistently seems to be a pipe dream for me.

In my final sessions, the vast majority of my laps were 42.2XXs, I just couldn't seem to find the time to make up the extra 2 tenths to break into the 41s, which left me feeling frustrated when I eventually decided it was time to give it up.

Not all that interested in the Hyundai VGT at Spa, so hopefully the new combo is more interesting.

I finally put some effort into the TT’s.

I’m not a fan of Fuji so as soon as I got gold on that one, I stopped.

As for the electric missile, I had quite a lot of trouble with this one. It took a lot to figure out the front end grip. Any slight input of too much power, and the front understeers into oblivion. In the end my time for today is decent for me so I’m happy with that.

Didn't try so far despite Spa but this one looks Bad/"challenging".

Yesterday I started a final stint as I was 0,2 away of gold - and found a whole second. I kind of like Fuji and it is often good to me...
