This is a fun one! I love anything Skyline related so I'll be back for more, regardless of if I improve my time or not 😍

Very happy with my 443rd place result in the TT152 at Fuji. I think I could have done better if I had the time to go back. It feels good to be back in the top 1000 for the 14th time out of 32 TTs. Much better than last year where at this stage I only had 8 top 1000 finishes.

Now first test today at Tokyo Driving Park: this Nismo is an interesting car but for me it has strange behavior. The S are difficult to negotiate and we quickly turned the lap into an invalid. But for a first test I am still happy with the gold in 1'45'850

Jerome, it will not be the last improvement for today as we know you. Mr Lehto turns to Inspektor Columbo (by Peter Falk) with so many returns... 🤣

I used to do that all the time 🤣🤣

(Great series of results, ami!)
Thanks a lot my dear Paul

What assists, if any, are ya'll using for the Z-Tune? I'm finding countersteering and default abs necessary
Low ABS and nothing else but it's not obvious 🥵🥵🤣

CSA OFF ABS weak

Seems to work!

Errr if you can ride the kerb lottery this one is a lot of fun. At first I thought it was an understeery mess and to some extent it is.. but you can wang this car through the first sector in a very fun way indeed. Shame occasionally it yeets itself into uncontrollable spins every couple of laps which is… troubling!

A slow S3 cost me what probably would have been a top 3 time, my S1 was fast..! But 9th isn’t so bad to start

Genuine question, would you guys prefer I don’t post first long laps and my opinion on them, as it changes as well all get better.

I thought they might be a useful heads-up with the best intentions but reflecting on it maybe not that useful or helpful and are spoilers for the do it your self side of things.

Edit: or actually do I just talk to much and over opine!!

I finally managed to try the Hyundai VGT at Spa. I tried it when we had the Le Mans TT in the search for the silver bullet (ultimately for me it was predictable the GR010) and after Spa I'm still not a fan. This time I decided to watch @Tidgney's guide first after reading all the comments here. Somehow I managed a silver, hopefully safe enough to not go back to it but I was certainly at a point where I was close to give up on it.

Onto the Skyline and Kyoto then! I can't recall ever driving on this track really, so had to learn the track, plus trying to tame the Skyline. After struggling I was on course to get silver, my bronze time was super close to silver (+5.05%) but messed up the chicane before the final turn. Then decided to load up @Tidgney's ghost and it pulled me into the silver range - for now:

I'm pretty sure it won't be enough but I still have to watch the guides, so I'm optimistic about keeping the silver streak alive.

After buying my own Z-Tune I had to try the time attack but it didn't go so well, I find the car very undeerstery in stock mode compared to my tuned version of the car, still a nice track once you get a good rhythm and balance on the chicanes and bumps. I'm still gunning for gold, just need ot follow @Tidgney or @Dan_Tes to show pace, lol.

Welp, I've found myself 5 pages behind in this thread again. I'll see if I can get around to reading all the posts. Meanwhile, I hopped on for one final run at Fuji last night. My sector 2 was terribly slow compared to other laps. Missing apexes, accidentally shifting down too early, slowing down too much...:irked: Oh well. Still not too bad a time I suppose.

Don't worry my friend, I'm probably 30-40 pages behind...but that's okay. Great time mate and it's even more exciting that you're almost in the top 300! Did you hear about Hulk Hogan's death today?

This car is full of character and honestly feels like an animal with a unique set of quirks that you must learn about in order to get the best from it. I clearly haven't been able to do that but I think I'm close to cracking the code. It actually enjoys being thrashed about.

Here's the latest guide for those interested! A fun one again but the chicane is rather annoying!

Thanks Mate as always! Your lap guides + Your enthusiastic commentary can instill confidence in anyone. The best thing about Your lap guides is the braking references because entry into any kind of turn can make or break the lap.

Before I try the TT with ernest, will again carefully see the lap guide because close to perfection, if not perfection is required for nailing any TT.

P.S. - Kyoto (track) was long overdue for a TT. This track is so much fun & feels even more inviting when compared to the last few TTs.

New one should be a fun one. Great car and a track that's pretty much all flow. No stupid chicanes to impede your progress lol.
I think Yamagiwa has one of the worst chicanes in the game tbh, all the time is in taking as much kerb as possible in the chicane which seems to randomly launch the car.

The Z-Tune's brakes are shocking as well unfortunately. Definitely a unique car to drive, but dreadful.
