Hello, last couple of days have been doing Daytona Superspeedway time trials and have managed to get in the top ten with most cars except the wall riding ones which if I can’t get near top ten without hitting wall I don’t bother with.

One trial has me puzzled the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR '07, after a 3 or 4 lap warm up to get me up to speed I cross the start line doing 146 mph but the first placed ghost car crosses it at 158 mph which I can’t even reach on the back straight. Now the first placed ghost drives around clean but is it possible that he’s doubling back at the start to do some wall riding which won’t show up on ghost replay.

If someone has the time could they try and prove that I’m mistaken other wise there’s no point doing them.

Was going to post some times but noticed
they where for pro settings so had to go and do them all again.

Have posted to avf as well.

Maybe it's the tyres?..Becuase I noticed the gear ratios when I do the time trials with my Mine's BNR34, I noticed that they were off. I guess try different sets of tyres. Hope this help

Same tyres, same settings. Every other trial against him I’m within 1 second or less but this ones four and a half seconds. Just seems to much. Anyway thanks for your replies.

At last someone else has noticed this.

I noticed this whilst going for time trials on Daytona road and this was before the update. I was going to post a video to illustrate this but I never got round to it. What I used to notice on Daytona road is the speed they started the lap at compared to mine. Now it has nothing to do with my exit speed out of the last chicane because the video I was going to post was going to illustrate how my exit speed was faster and yet I started the lap some 15mph slower. It has nothing to do with clutch or when you changed gear because the simple fact of the matter is the car simply wouldn't accelerate at the same speed.

Now considering my friends had the same problem the only conclusion I could come up with is the version we are using i.e PAL. I haven't noticed this with any other cars but I shall be keeping a close eye on the leaderboards. Im sure some will say this is incorrect but I shall prove this by a video and not only will I illustrate my faster exit speed out of the last chicane but I will also change gear at exactly the same RPM.

What is your warm up routine? Do you ride the rim of the track? Because that generates the most speed I think. Nascar drivers do that on their out lap before qualifying.

Are you using a wheel or controller? On Daytona time trail with a controller i ranked 10th because the car wasn't getting the same speed as using a wheel. with the wheel i ranked 3rd :sly:

Well, I just managed to get the 2nd time with the Evo '07 and 4th with the Evo '05. There really is no cheating necessary to get a top time. It's just very hard to do. You just have to keep your speed up in the corners by steering as less as possible. My top speed at the finish line was 254 km/h which equals 158 mph.

Haha, 2 GTP members have improved their times on this track since my last post :)

And if Mr P is reading this; I hope you enjoyed setting the nr 1 time since you can do it again :D

@Calcifer almost had you by .6sec the other day, now your .114sec ahead

Nah it's ok mate :sly: I was just testing it after reading this thread .. tbh it's a bit too boring for me, would be much better on the road version and then the battle would certainly be worthwhile

jush had a few time attacks with integra type R today... and realised that people who use G25 H shifter can shift faster than the paddle shift. I'm a G25 user but I don't use the H shifter because I found it really hard to heel and toe downshift that's why I've been using the paddle shift all along with left foot braking. It really annoys me that people can shift faster using the clutch and H shifter because I was only a few tenth of a seconds behind this no. 1 guy @ fuji F and I'm losing to him at the last straight of the fuji speedway because changing from 2nd to 3rd gear takes a few tenth of a second longer using the paddle shifter.

We've both been beaten now by a Japanese and a Taiwanese fellow :) The leaderboards are getting quite competitive.

You're right about the road course, of course, but somehow I find the oval strangely compelling. Each car requires a different approach :)
