i spent a good chuck of today completing the first nine time trials (straight)...but Complex String is killin' me. I still need 4.2 seconds. I know I can improve on the first series of s turns and the blind hilly s turns near the end. What parts of that track are crucial to beating that damn trial and how can I make up 4.2 seconds?

Well, if you've done the license tests, you know that if done correctly, you can do the hilly turns dirn near flat out on the gas... don't forget to nail the hairpin at the end naturally so brake early and accelerate through it. Other than that it's simply keeping clean lines, stay to the inside on the loop turns and get on the gas early for that final run to the finish line.

If you can't get it, do the license testsfor sections of that track over and over trying to bring down your time on them until you can't stand no more.

Wow, hey Dolbytone! There's a name I haven't seen in a long time. I don't think you even know me, but I remember you from a board back in about 1999. Gturismo1's board maybe? I forget.

Anyways, ZZII, the Complex String Time Trial is my favorite. One of my favorite tracks, and the RUF RGT is one of my favorite cars, so it's a pleasing test to me. If there's any advice I can give, it's that you have to set yourself up for the next turn sequence. There are places where you can go in with a lot of speed, but in some turns it's better to take a different approach and back of a little, cut to the inside, then power through the next sequence.

Maybe a track diagram would help :). Don't know where to find one though :o :(

beat it finally (after about 15 tries). time was 4:51.285, nearly 1.5 seconds faster than necessary. thanx for the tips.
