Is it me, am i the only 1, or does any1 else find that the tahiti maze and complex string r really really hard to complete in the time trials on arcade?:mad:
so far i have been trying to beat my best times now for 2 days and yet on both tracks i am about 3 secs of the pace:banghead:
any1 else find this a problem????:odd:
 
lmao i have probs with all the TT's i always lose the car or just barely get off the track going on to the rumble strip i should try the rally one im usually good with them then only license ive been able to get all gold on too
 
Tahiti maze is easy. Complex string's difficulty lies in its long circuit, therefore it's hard to remember each corner's entering speed

Ooooh, goodness me, yes. I personally found Tahiti harder than Complex String.

If you use the search function, and use the terms 'Complex String Time Trial' I imagine you'll find a lot of comment.
 
absolutley, those 2 are the only things standing between me and 100% completed:banghead:
 
For TT-9, I would suggest you do the Tahiti licenses, then you'll be able to easily do the Tahiti Time Trial. Go get gold on R-6 and R-7, then you'll have those hairpinds down, which is the key to Tahiti Maze. If you can get Silver in R-8 (or Gold in PAL), you're fast enough to win TT-9.
 
Yeah, I found the rallies the hardest TTs to do, harder than the Complex String for sure...Very frustrating stuff.
 
ive done all 10 tt's and my secret was watching the demo in the view u normaly drive the car and just watch and make a mental note of gears and entry speed and line then try ya best to replicate. it took me bout 45min for the last 3 TTs and about that for the first 7
 
I guess I have rally racing talent ;)

But seriously, the key to those hairpins is to downshift and tap brake while releasing the accel (counter if neccessary) and press the pedal again (neutral steer) after the apex. Then just upshift from there...

Umh, let's see... Tahiti Maze, I think I've completed that one, haven't even thought about touching Complex String.

Apart from that and Swiss Alps the Time Trials are fairly easy...
 
The Tahiti Maze TT is easy compared to the R-8 License. It's the same course and the same car, but on the TT, you get a BIG running start at the starting line. In the License Test, you have to go from a standing start. And, the time for a gold on the License Test is even lower! than the TT.

TT-9 has a 98 MPH rolling start and you have to beat 1'59.459.

R-8 has an 80 MPH rolling start and you have 1'58.700 NTSC Gold, 2'00.000 PAL Gold, 2'08.000 NTSC Bronze and 2'10.000 PAL Bronze.

So, if you can get Gold on R-8 (which you probably wouldn't bother to do unless you got all the other gold licenses), you can do TT-9 pretty easily, but if you got Bronze like most people, you've still got a long way to go.

Maybe you didn't realize because he's wrong ... you start from 80 MPH in the R-8 license.

ive got all of them done except the complex string. It bugs the crap out of me. The rally was easy but i love rally.
 
:) I just managed to beat that damn Complex String TT today, after "working on it" for 3-4 days. Finally when I did it my time was better than I expected : 4;48;742. Boy am I glad it's over. In my opinion the key to success on this TT is to just try, try, try and try again. You have to learn how to take every single one of those 1.000.000 corners. :)

The Tahiti Maze TT was sooooo much easier. No probs at all there.

Okay, I haven't done these in a while because they drove me so crazy. I thought that you had to do a standing start on one of them. My bad! :banghead:

But I knew that one of them was a hell of a lot easier than the other. And that's still a huge difference between 98 mph & 80 mph going into the first corner. Especially when the difference between sucess & failure is measured in hundredths, if not thousandths, of a second.
