Yeah but it was horribly unballanced. A friend of mine quickly picked up on the monkey with the rocket launcher and no one could stop him.

But I'm excited. More games is always a good thing.

timesplitters 2 was my favourite game for ages and i didnt even get to do ilink 16 players! i have a feeling that EA will totally kill the life out of it though.

I completely agree. Timesplitters 2 was an excellent game and one of my favorites for a long time. The single player wasnt all that great but the multiplayer was sooooo much fun. I used to link up with my friends. The most we ever linked up was 4 different tvs, 4 ps2's 4 ppl. We set our tvs so we couldnt see each other and peak. That game was just made so well for multiplayer. Ther would be 4 of us and if I remember correctly at least 12 comp guys or 8. Well anyway the total amount of people playing was just soo much fun!! I believe there were over 30 different weapons which is where Halo 2 lacks. So I am quite positive Timesplitters 3 will be incredible. Like I said I will probably get it for the X-box because it will be better online on the X-box. 👍

I don't think the number of weapons really makes that much difference. In most FPS games I've played it comes down to just a couple weapons being used all the time. In Halo it was the pistol and the shotgun. The other weapons would get used also, of course, but just not nearly as much.

I allways thought the timesplitter games were a pile of unplayable crap (I do own TS2 on the xbox), over sensitive aiming, crap aiming system (hold a button down to aim...), dull levels with little scope (or detail), you just never really gave a toss what happened. It just felt like a crap follow up to the mighty golden eye. The fact it ran at 60 fps was nice though (the animation in the cinematics was also pretty good). Lets see how TS3 turns out, but I STRONGLY doubt it will come anywhere near halos excelence.

I really would enjoy TS3 if they did the following

1. Halo style controls (so more PC style, I don't like the idea of it randomly aiming, then having to click a button to get a cross hair aimer that you can't really use while moving)
2. Maps with a better sense of scale and detail. Hell just make them more interesting, it was nice having all the themes through time, but the levels sucked.
3. Enemys that are actually interesting to fight.
4. Some kind of plot that isn't crap doesn't hurt either (say what you want about halo's but it certainly had interesting bits in places).

I still get together once in a while with friends and family to play TS2. But not the single player only the multiplayer.

I've tried multiplayer before, but the control (or lack of it) drove me to such levels of insanity that I just gave up. I shall never play TS2 again. Ever.

I remember on those early levels with the security cameras. I just COULDN'T hit the fricking things, as the cross hair auto centered when you held the button down, so the cursor just wobbled like mad as I tried to gold the stick in the EXACT place to hit the damn camera. What terrible game and level design, I can't believe it has some of the people who did Golden Eye as staff members because that game played superbly and had great levels. ARGGG!!!!

I had the controls on T2 set up almost identical to Halo 2 even though they are 2 different systems. I am very used to the analogs though and I know how to set up controllers. Mabey thats why I liked it. Its just a game so if you dont play it ever again its not like I wont be able to sleep.
Taking your own maps online will be a nice addition to the game. 👍

Man u suck T2 on PS2 was absolutely friggin awsome it gave me more love than halo (yes i played halo lan) it has life no other games give.

I just beat Halo 2 today and Timesplitters 2 had a lot more game time and a lot more play value in my opinion. So I imagine TS3 will be excellent!

Do you have Parkinson's or something? Amazing was eay. Even if you were going for the one hit 'kill' on the cameras.

NO!!! I have NEVER had a problem on halo, infact I'm a damn damn good shot on it. This is why it's difficult. Now imagine this

you wanna hit a camera, but you need the cross hair on, so you look in it's general direction, ok good, now you have to press right thumb stick in, and while holding it down, hit the camera. Would be easy if the gun didn't want to constantly center, or if you didn't have to hold the stick down :P. I won't even mention the fact that the sensitvity is on 3 million (the xbox stick picks up every tiny little wobble). By the time this is done, it's spotted you (I won't even mention the comedy sniping, then "it's on a target, oh no the guns centered by it self"), yet on halo it's a simple case of pc style aiming, which works about a million times better. I just hate the idea of not shooting where I look exactly, it's a BS system. I think it's nice that you pretend that the system works, but regardless of whether you like halo or think it's dull, it's control system is just superb.
My hatred for ts will never go away, until they realise that people like to aim properly :P. OH and give the game some fricking feeling of scale, I don't wanna run about levels that look like they are from a quake 2 engine shooter. Give them some scale and detail.

I've played it on the ps2 too, abit crapper as the sticks are even worse for FPS games. Also looks worse on the ps2.

xnob...obviously a ps2 only owner :P

There is a lot of excellent information and videos. Here
Very good article try to read the entire thing if you have time. Here are some of the highlights.:
1. Altogether, Future Perfect lets you massacre foes using 40 unique weapons, not all of which you can use from the get-go. Players will need to play through the single-player campaign to unlock a bulk of the available weaponry, with the rest unlocking only after successful completion of all the arcade challenges the game has to offer. This fact won't get in the way of online play with friends, however. Say your friend is hosting a game, and he has everything unlocked, where you have not. You can still play using you friend's unlocked weapons. As long as the person hosting the game has weapons available to him (or her) then you're good to go.
2. Of course, players will undoubtedly created hundreds more with the included map creator. The folks over at Free Radical Design went out of their way to make map creation as intuitive as possible. Players will have a robust set of tools at their disposable, all of which the developers have designed for use with a console controller. That's not to say the map creator will lack any of the tools or extras seen in PC shooters, only that they've been reworked with the console gamer in mind. Players will decide everything from simple architecture and layout, to the position of stationary gun mounts and the look of player models. Plus, players will choose among 50 musical tracks to use in their maps, with songs from the first two titles in the series.

After making a map, players can then upload their creation using EA's main website, where other players can then download it. For now, player-generated maps are the only custom content Future Perfect supports, but there may be more options in the pipeline. Also, EA is currently unsure whether they will impose some kind of approval process to ensure a standard level of quality in uploaded content. It may happen, it may not. Either way, players will be assured a limitless number of content once the game hits stores.

I have TS2 on the PS2 coz I didn't have an X-box at the time and I had mine setup close to Killzone confiq settings but it kinda didn't work for me so put it back to classic mode...

TS3 is gunna be great and the smackin heads of zombies with a bat timed just right is gunna feel good lol 👍

I just called and they are at my EB Games store! After work I will play it for a few hours and post my first impression tonight or tomorrow. Mabey I will see some of you on tonight. 👍

I played for about 2 hours online last night on the X-Box and its an EXTREMELY fast pace FPS. I have to say again EXTREMELY fast pace. Its an all out straight up shooter with bullets flying everywhere and people dying everywhere.
So far Timesplitters 3 does have the option I wanted that Halo 2 didnt have.
I can start a room and anyone can join even if they arent on my friends list. So if I dont want to put up with anyones crap I can boot them out. :) 👍
The respawn time is less than 1 second!!!!!!
Some of the levels are absolutely huge up to 6 or 7 stories high. The Blimp level comes to mind immediately. I have only played probably 5 different levels online and used around 7 different characters of at least 50-100 to choose from.
The connection seemed almost flawless and there didnt seem to be lag in any of the games I played. Once in a while a guy might bounce a little but not bad at all.
The graphics seem nice but obviously not as good as Halo 2.
My only complaints so far and they aren't major.
1. Pistols suck in this game compared to Halo 2
2. You cant jump just like in Killswitch. But this isnt a big deal.

I will update more once I play single player and upload some of my own maps after I make them......

One of the things I miss in Halo 2 is the ability to have a dedicated server where people can jump in and out and just run around killing things - much like Counter-Strike.

I hope the PS2´s online mode to play as good as the Xbox´s. Even though it only support 8 people online, with Xbox supporting 16, as long as it doesn´t lag it´s fine with me. That´s what I´m getting the game for.
