Tinkering with Cars in Garage

I am somewhat new to GT6. But, is their anyway to tinker with a car in your garage without actually getting into it? We use to be able to do this in GT5.

They seemed to have made some improvements to the garage in GT6, but also seemed to loose some functionality that GT5 had. Grrr.

Not sure what you are asking here?
If you want to access the tuning of a car then you need to using it, this has always been the way with GT as far as I can remember.
Why would this be a problem anyway?

In GT5 you could access the tuning screen of any car in your garage without getting into it. Even though that made "getting into a car" a two-step process, it still was kind of handy sometimes.

The 500 car garage limit is enough to make me hate GT6's garage with a bloody passion.

That there is. You can put cars in the stockyard when the garage is full, but the stockyard is terrible.
