Hi all.

I need help for an online race I want to organize with some buddies of mine next weekend, to celebrate the 24 hours Nurburgring.

It'll be a 1h race, with chance of rain and day/night transition.
Since in these days I don't have much time to check every parameter in the game, I need some advice:

PP: 550? (theoretically, how many PPs do cars competing in the 'ring 24h have?)
Number of laps: 8? 10? (~1 hour)
Time progression: ?? (should be enough for a complete day/night cycle in 1h real time)
Weather Changeability: ?? (I'd like some rain here and there, but I don't want the "Great Flood")

Thank you in advance.

PP: Look at the Schulze N24 and the Falken Skyline ;)
Number of laps: Hmm... a stock Schulze N24 will go round the 24Hr layout with ~8:45 mins (at least that's what I managed :p), so maybe ~7 laps? I don't know
Time progression: I don't know. I'm not really good at Mathematics :p
Weather Changeability: 1 hour is enough to turn a 100% dry track to a 100% wet track, so I advise you to turn weather changeability to 0, while track wetness (or whatever it's called ) to 30%

Above information is calculated very roughly, so the results could vary greatly from what you might expect

It really depends on how real you want it. The top SP9 cars (GT3) are around 600pp. I think the schulze N24 is like 570pp or so. Its in the SP8 class, as would be the Lexus IS-F RM and old DTM cars (Astra, CLK, etc.). I have built and tuned multiple SP8 cars that have raced in recent years, like the V12 Vantage, LFA, M3 GTR. Pick a group you all can agree on and then do a three lap free run focusing on consistent lines and staying on the road to set a kind of average time for whatever class you decide to run. On that info, you can judge the number of laps and what time progression would be appropriate. I would set the weather to 25% with changeability to 1 or 2. The weather depends on your preferences though.

Setting up online events of any sort are a matter of covering every detail. The more time and work you put in making it right is just that much more fun and enjoyment you and everyone participating will have with it.

ok, i'd say allow nine or ten mins per lap.

If you're good at conserving tyres you should get two laps per set of racing soft tyres, maybe three if you're very good. Racing softs on a race car could be fifteen or twenty seconds per lap faster than racing hards and a pit stop takes 20+ seconds.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.
If I'm not mistaken, I should put the time progression slider to 24...?

Yeah 24 is the correct one because that means that a real life minute are 24 minutes then do this operation 60' * 24' = and it equals 1440', one hour has 60 minutes then 1440'/60' and equals 24 hours, but for a better result put it in 23, because with 24, when the race pass to 1 hour and 3 minutes, its passing the 25 hour in game time

Stick to either 550pp street cars, or 550 pp race cars

if you have a mixture of both it wont be competitive at all
