I need some help. It seems as though i go through tires EXTREMELY fast. Even with simulation tires ii can only get about 5 or 6 laps in before they are completely bald and going all over the place. And if I use a medium tire they last about 4 laps. Is there something i should be doing that I'm not?:banghead:

run a smoother line and stay on the track and no sliding.

Rumble strips hurt tires, as do wall bangs. But really the big thing that kills them quickly is sliding. Brake earlier and brake smoothly. Ease back into the throttle rather than jamming it on, trying to avoid spinning the back tires.

Like md said, drive for smoothness. You'll find that not only do your tires last longer, but your lap times will get faster as well. Good luck, and welcome to GTPlanet!

What car are you using?

Driving smoothly will DEFINITLY improve your lap times, not to mention thread life also..

I have never heard of simmy tires going out in 6 laps though..... :odd:

If you hit walls it makes you slide thus, burning your tires
If you lock up the brakes it burns your tires for sliding
Rumble strip, I dont know, I think it has something to do with your tires bouncing then if you floor it it causes spin, that was just a guess. Correct anything if I am wrong.

Don't use simulation tires in endurance races...use the racing tires at the top of the list (Super hards) that only cost about 10,000 cr. They will last for quite a long time, but it depends on what car and power you are using.

yeah, use slicks or super slicks they will last for about 30 laps. Well then again, it sounds like you may have troubles making corners so they might only last about 20 laps

Hey, thanks guys. I practice tanking really good lines for a bit and then did the race. I won!! and my tires were not even near as bad what they usually are. I'm sure that I could still use a little more practice though.:D

Make sure you have TCS set somewhere between 1 and 3. If you have TCS off, you'll spin the tires really easy and you'll wear out your tires faster. If you have TCS higher than 2 or 3, though, it'll slow you down.

hehe i play with no TCS or ASM. The only thing that changed was my starts. everything else is still the same =P

If nothing else changes, why not use it? I mean, it'll improve your starts, preserve your tyres and have no detriment on the rest of your lap...

Don't bother with the ASM though - hateful piece of s(pit)...

i get bored in some races and i just start drifting here and there for fun =P

use t2 tires.
the number of laps you are getting isnt really that bad tho. is a stock s4 i get only 4 laps on apricot hill before the passenger side front turns a bright orange. but thats pushing it hard tho :)

good luck m8 :)

Am I wrong, or does the PAL version have a slightly different list of racing tyres when compared to the American version?

This has to be one of the most irritating thread titles I have read in a long time. I cringe every time I have to read over it. What the hell is "Tire Eater Upper" :odd:
I am not good at grammer either, but damn thats bad.

The difference is that in PAL you replace the word "slick" with "hard" in all the tire names. But you can avoid all confusion by just using the "T" numbers.
