tire popping?

does it do that in gt3 i always change em the second they turn red but i remeber in gt2 they did do that but anyway do the tires pop in gt3?

No, tyres do not explode. And they didn't in GT2 either.

Thing is, part of the problem is real-life driving includes a whole bunch of things you DON'T want. Imagine losing a 2 hour endurance race on the last corner because your engine just... went. People would get rid of their copy of the game in droves.

I believe PD, as a result, don't include anything at all that would affect your ability to actually finish a race. "Driving Simulator" is fine, but they do have to make money... :D

Hehe yeh you have a point...you wouldn't be able to walk the streets due to amout of PS2's and copies of the game that had been launched through various windows due to your turbo blowing on lap 90

Maybe hes talking about two player damage or something. I forgot what its called but somewhere in GT2 their is an option so when you hit a wall, it will be harder to steer.

Heh, yeah, maybe if they had a Le Mans sort of race, on the last few turns of that 24 hour race...if the engine just blew...you can imagine the madness.

It is already frustrating enough to have the AI cars slam into you on the the last turn of the last lap. I don't need or whant any type, shape or form of "damage" either tire or car. If PD ever put this in their game, they had better make it an option, because if it's not, I wont be buying it.

And imagine the poor controller...it wouldn't even be recognisable if that happened to me...

LoL I did something a tad bit like that. I was playing NFS Hot Pursuit 2, and I was on the last lap of the Porsche 10 Lap endurance (Tracks are like 4 minutes long on that game) so Im winning and I cut a turn a little short and I just stopped when I hit a something or other, and lost. I proceeded to take my "abuse" controller (it was a PS1 controller that had no more use, except an abuse controller) and completely demolished it. So if you can imagine what you would do to your controller, think what I would do since I did that all because of NFS and not Gran Turismo. ;)

I remember running a full grand prix in GP3 a little whle back - I had the race in the bag and with three laps to go, I was flying down the back straight at Monza, the speed started to stop, there was a bang and the mirrors filled with white smoke. I just sat there for about ten minutes, stunned...

I would like engine failures and tire blowouts. It adds to the realism...frustration is real. That's just me though. Along with that I would like to see foam controllers...

in nascar 2003 they have random engine blowout (rare)
but i believe it just adds to the experience

I agree - although it does have the potential to be frustrating. In GP3 you can sometimes get 'partial problems' - I've had races where I've had to carry the car with no 5th gear, and further along 4th went as well. That was fun...

i does become fun to nurse a car home
same with nascar 2003 there are tons of problem you can have (like the gear box problem) and it becomes interesting to nurse them home

but i think GT series is different, in nascar i didnt care if i didnt come first just head on to the next race in the series

but in GT people damand to always win other wise you dont get 100% or money or a car
