Hi All,

I haven't yet downloaded the update due to being in the middle of an endurance race, but i was just reading the official [From PD] release notes on this latest update, and one of the things i noticed that was not advertised in PlayStation Blogs release notes, was "Tire Wear Speed Adjustment". Now i would assume, that that means PD has finally made changes to the non-existant(?) difference in wear out rate between Hard, Medium, and Soft tyres... What i was wondering is, has anyone that has downloaded this update been able to confirm this?

I haven't seen anything...there's the penalty button for free run ,no ABS.... I searched for the "Tire Wear Speed Adjustment" and found nothing...

I haven't tested this, but I think it might be adjusting how slow or quickly the tyres get used up. Like GT4, tyre wear slow, medium or strong.

They have fixed the tyre wear so that it is realistic. Racing hards last longer than racing softs, but have less grip, while racing softs don't last as long at racing hards, but have more grip.

Hard tires used to wear out faster than soft because you slide more of hard tires. They probably fixed it.

That would be fantastic! :dunce:

There is no "tire wear speed adjustment" as an option.

The "Tire wear speed have been adjusted" throughout the game.

👍

And how is it? Like in GT4?
Sorry can't test it at the moment.

My soft tyres disintegrated so fast...I wasn't even paying attention and then suddenly I spun out. I wondered what was going on, only to look at the tyre gauge to see that my tyres were f:censored:d

I love the tire wear It's making me drive even more careful. It makes you pay with bad driving.

Oh God, please tell me they didn't accelerate tire wear? Please tell me they are not that stupid!! 2-3 pitstops in a 1hr race is more than enough!

I will call my Bobs to test new batch of Tires:D

I just did 15 laps on comfort softs and had very little wear, it seemed less than before at least. 👍

I'm hoping they really didn't accelerate it, if they did they have succesfully killed online league racing...

Anyone tested this yet?

Tire degradation in Racing Softs compared to Racing Hards?

Are they still the same or the Softs go off faster now?

This is the best gift in a GT update I've ever gotten. It's just... it's so good. My mind's bubbling with possibilities in racing.

So are we looking at more of a sliding scale than the quirk of the RS tyres wearing less? For example CH wear least down to RS which wear out the quickest. If that's the case then it's fine by me... as long as the AI drivers in the endurance races are also effected.
