I have a question hopefully somebody has an answer gt 5 breaks down thier tires C/h,m,s- S/h,m,s- R/h,m,s .c being comfort S being sport and R being Racing tires I think we all know what h,m s means my question is would a S/s be harder or softer than R/h I have a 690 hp Audi TT that keeps breaking the rear end loose and sliding in sharp corners I know i could try slowing down but i was wondering if a tire change might help right now I'm running S/s was thinking on going to a R/tire should i stay soft or would a R/ h be one step stickier than a S/s with a R/s being 3 steps up as far as traction is concerned

Others frown on it, but turn on the racing line in practice mode and try to paint the line. It's easier to tell what the car is doing with the visible line, rather than the one in your head.

Race hards are better than sport softs.

My suggestion though is that covering up poor driving or tuning with stickier tires is a bad idea.

Comfort
Sport
Race

Least grip being comfort tires, most grip being race tires.

Hard
Medium
Soft

Least grip and more life being with the hard tires, most grip and least life with the soft tires.

The division between R:H and S:S is a muddy one... some cars on some tracks will fare better on S:S due to the more forgiving handling envelope of all soft tires.

The 'breakaway' zone of the hard tyres is much narrower and as a result the tyres are much more unforgiving on RWD cars.
