Ok, I hear lots about both these cars, but am not really sure what the difference is, I know the TSX is more powerful, but also cheaper than the TL, so overall aren't these cars pretty similar, or is there something im missing!
Which in your opinion is the better deal/car?

Actually the TL is the faster of the cars with it's 270 HP engine as opposed to the TSX's 200 HP engine.

I'd like to find out more but Acuras website sucks as you need to be a registered member to gain access to all of the site. :ghey:

it doesnt matter because the TL does have more HP but doesnt matter because the Tsx is more of a race ready car. The Tsx is like the Euro accord type R... it has almost the same power as the Type R.... the TL is faster because V6 and the Tsx is straight-4..... but the TL is more of a family sport car.....

The TL's leagues better - it starts at $32700 and redefines the entire segment, surpassing (slightly) last year's iconic Infiniti G35. The TSX competes in a slightly different segment and is overpriced and underpowered for real competition in it.

i kno. but the mazda 6 doesnt realy appeal to me because they dont have the styling and the performance as the tsx has..

The Mazda 6 has 20bhp more than the Acura TSX and the manual version does 0-60 in 7.5 seconds to the manual TSX's 0-60 in 7.9. Hopefully 'styling' isn't your only reason for preferring the TSX.

Yup, in fact there is a big DURATEC V6 parts all over the engine bay, but the Mazda 6 s is not a bad car at all (especially the hatchback or wagon version), despite of the Ford engine. Yes the 6 beat the TSX based on the performance figures, but according to Automobile Magazine two months ago, the TSX beats every car on the comparo (including the BMW 325i, Infiniti G35, Subaru Impreza 2.0 WRX, Mazda 6 s, and yes even the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO {7.5}). The comparo is based on overall balance of performance, everyday use, fun factor, performance, and value. So the TSX is a better car overall.

I consider the TL as a sport-cruiser sedan, a perfect car of long distance on the twisties. It may not be as agile as the 3-series, or as fast as the G35, but considering the feature-per-doller factor, nothing can beat it (come on, 8-speaker stereo system DVD-ROM navigation system with Bluetooth technology). And the only near-luxury sedan (Front Engine-Front Drive) category that has a 6-speed close ratio manual tranny, now thats a big plus for me.

But between the TL and TSX, I'll pick the TSX. Because not only I'm not yet prepared to own a 6-cylinder vehicle (due to maintenance cost and fuel milage), but also I'd like a car that has a better connection/communication between the driver, and I think that the TL can't deliver that. Not to metion that the TL is a bit too big for me (although I'm 6'4, I like a car that is a bit snug on the cockpit for better feeling).

Yeeeaaaa!

it is..... have u ever tested the Mazda 6 or the TSX???

I owned a Mazda 6 and I drove the Acura TSX last week. The Mazda's got more total room inside, more cargo room, more horsepower, and a very similar fully-loaded spec list. Fully loaded versions are also about $5500 cheaper. It's really a no-brainer

But it's a Ford

no its not a no brainer..... the mazda of corse is a better car for the price......... the tsx is over all a better ride then the Mazda 6.... the mazda 6 is nice, but not as solid as the tsx...

With a Ford engine! Let's boycott.

It's almost as bad as Hyundai. :P

Oh - better ride. My mistake, I forgot that ride made up for the $5500 price difference, cargo and passenger room, and horsepower.

Hyundai is way better.

Hyundai is the warranty leader, and the most improved car company in the past 10 years.

No, really it is, just research the car thouroughly. I know, most of the guys here on GTP hates Honda/Acuras, and likes more Mazdas.

Was this the Mazda 6 s (with a sport package)? Does it have rebates and stuff?

If I could pick one user to ban...

 You think I haven't because I'm disagreeing with you? I don't hate any brand of company, just specific cars based on their merits.

Acura TSX + navigation system = $28500
Mazda 6s + sport package, comfort package, front side airbags, power sunroof, leather upholstery = $23700

Adding an in-dash 6-disc CD player, a cassette player, fog lights, anda cargo organiser (full spec) brings the price to $24800.

The car is does have a better drive. On paper and specs, the 6 may be better, but a lot of people hold the drive and ride a higher priority that you do. People definitely would pay $5500 more for a better ride, drive and more luxurious car overall. More cargo room? Yea, is the average new TSX buyer going to be looking around at a 6 anyway, much less care that it has more total cargo room?

I've actually heard supremely comparable things about drive, with the TSX actually having the big con of less power and less tossability. Paying $4800 extra to gain 'some luxury' and a bit in the handling is absurd when you lose power, speed and accelleration, and room not to mention practically breaking even on total spec.

I can't blame you that you diss Acuras, its just drivers opinion. Anyway GTP has more Mazda fans than Honda/Acuras do.

Well here another proof that the TSX is better, it one of this years Car and Drivers 10 Best list.

Just found that out today.

I like the TSX its just because, its just the right 4-door notchback (aka. sedan) for me, besides I don't really like the US-spec Accord that much (but I still strongly recommend it), no stick-shifer on the sedan?! And plus the US-Accord is a tad too big for me, and the V6 is a bit too upscale for me. What I like is a lean-body, narrower version of the Accord (which is the JDM/Euro-spec), 4 cylinders, and a 6-speed M/T. I tried to fit in a Mazda6, I like it but its still too big for me. Big cars makes me feel insecure or disonnected with the car, and thats a bad thing in my situation, different people have different needs.
