TMNT -

I would like to say straight away that I think the way that every advert simply calls this TMNT is really stupid & annoying. Just call them "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", heroes in a half shell, TURTLE POWER!! Err, sorry I got carried away.

If your reading this then your probably were/are a fan, and also, your probably a bit sceptical about this new animated version. As I was. But amazingly they pulled it off. Well to a degree. There is a lot of nit picking that can be done, so I will do that. But I'll start on a positive thing which is the animimation is actually good. OK its not the same as the original live action film, but it works well enough.

Now some annoying things. Splinter, he just doesn't sound right. There is also very little actual martial arts fighting for quite a long time. Then there is the fact that it is so clearly a children's film (although this didn't bother me for once). I forgot the other things I moaned about now……….. Maybe that was it. I know I said the animation was good, but it is a shame they didn't do it properly. Oh ye, one little niggle was that they never did the head-duck thing. Also Donatello sounded a bit camp. There also seemed to be a distinct lack of "dude"-ness going on.

But it is a daft enjoyable film. The soundtrack is excellent, full of happy punky pop rock. And the brilliant usage of "Wo black betty" in one of the funniest fights ever. There is also one other really good fight on a rooftop. It makes me laugh that a PG rated animated film can make a fight that good, yet films like "The Bourne Supremacy" can't make a good fight out of a properly "violent" film, WEIRD. Oh ye, it's also quite funny in parts.

Basically, this was a nice surprise & really entertaining. There is also a good game of spot the celebrity voice. Plus a hint at a sequel.

7/10

The Turtles are made for a live-action film. There's nothing finer than seeing a bunch of guys in heavy latex suits - with shells - doing better martial arts and acrobatics than you could ever dream of doing yourself.

CGI FTL.

I was a fan of the first live action movies. This is a cartoon, therefore I have no interest in seeing it. I will never see this movie. ever.

I personally thought this was going to blow. Much. And you know what? It was totally awesome, like Rocky Balboa was. Yeah, I would have preferred live action, but the visuals look pretty good regardless (what would have been really awesome is a melding of CGI for the turtles and live action for everyone else, but that would have been mighty expensive, me thinks.), the story is pretty decent and the fight scenes, as mentioned, are great, though there weren't enough of them.
The movie has also lost the 80's feel that made the original ones so charming, but I'd say it is balanced out by the fact that these damned kids never watched the original movies or TV show anyways. Oh well.
7/10.

That is technically the official title of the movie, I believe.

I'm really tempted to go see this. Myself and a few mates have hit the "nostalgic" age, abit tragic at 16-17 eh?

Anyway, my real point is, they got the movie's name wrong.

"Teenage Mutant Hero turtles" is so much cooler.

Despite those of you who have seen it and given good reviews, I still just have no interest in seeing this new TMNT movie. I can't get past the animation and the kiddy feeling it gives off when I see a preview for it. I liked the live-action films, but I'm not a big enough fan to cross over and watch them in animation. It's just not the same.

Would you like to watch a live-action Shrek? Sorta the same thing in my eyes.

Yeah, and I'm sure Super Probotector sounds so much better than Contra III: The Alien Wars to you crazy Brits, with your seemingly random word censorship.

:sly:
Say Philosopher, pleaseeeeee.

I heard American's can't say it, kinda like Germans supposedly can't say squirrel.

I dont care if its Ninja or Hero. Just dont call it TMNT, it sounds mental.

Some things sound good abreviated, QOTSA (Queens of the stone age). I cant think of any films off hand. But not TMNT.

Philosopher?

I can say it just fine. How are you "supposed" to say it?
