Hi guys, my name's Bram. Some of you already knew but I recently moved to Norway.

So what do I think about it? It's great!

I don't regret a thing I moved to here 👍

I live in Fyresdal now, a quiet and beautiful place. So to ask all Norwegians here: Where do you live?

Are there any of you who also moved from another country to Norway?

I'll post some images as soon as I get broadband, I am only on a 31.2 kps connection now :indiff:

Cheers,

~good consumer prices?

~any crazy laws?

a friend of mine works on a farm in norway, havent heard from him in over a month though.

Norway eh? That's the place to be ;) I live in Ålesund, and I have no clue where Fyresdal is... I never payed much attention in my Geography class...
So have you learned any Norwegian yet? And why did you move?

Ja, jeg kan snakker litt norsk ;)

We live about 150 km north of Kristiansand, we moved because of the nature and stuff.

I live, as you can read to the left, in Skiptvet. A boring place where (almost) nothing happens. It's approx. an hour drive to the south-east from Oslo, 65-80 min with train/bus combo.

Born in Belfast, moved to Rykkinn (a distant suburb to Oslo) when 3, then at the age of 12 moved here. It's better here, though. People are nice, things are easy. People drive like mad though (think 80km/h with vehicles wearing 400/65R38 front and 650/60R55 rear rubber :scared: )

Nature's nice - summers are warm, but the winters can be brutal - if you(r parents) drive, forget all-season tires. Dedicated winter tyres are a minimum in the cold months, studs are recommended.

Edit 2: Just noticed the other thread with the HiLux, which reminded me. Car taxes here are insane (VAT + Volume-tax + horsepower-tax + weight-tax + road-tax + fuel-tax + (re-)registration tax +++), boosting car prices to an average of 65% above german prices. Importing won't help, since the taxes still have to be paid. Norway has the second highest car prices in Europe, only "losing" to Denmark, which has 82% avg. above Germany.:scared: That along with a minimum refund when a car is scrapped helps to give Norway one of Europe's oldest car pools - 11 years average.

So, Pink, if you're looking for a HiLux, check out T-Rex, gawk at the prices (most sold privately), and be prepared to pay, along with your wallet, an arm, an eye, and probably also your liver.

Yeah I know, a Toyota Avensis here costs like a BMW 7-series in Belgium

To import our Saab 900 SE convertible it would cost like 10,000 dollars, not to mention the taxes so we sold it :nervous: (Goddamn, it had a 2.0L 185 HP :indiff: )

About the winters, October 25th, already 10 cm snow here!

And the people here say like: Temp? Bah, maybe -20C at it's coldest, 50cm-1m snow.

I was like...?...!...

@kikkie: Also nice to hear from you man, wassup?
The same typical Belgian crap (Verhofstadt :yuck: ). Nice weather though for october. I live in the "kempen" and it is about 20 to 22 °C!!!!!

Enjoy yourzelf in Norway!!! :)

Yeah, I heard it, that's quite warm for that month, isn't it? (I hate high-humidity  )

Anyway, were in kempen? I have been living in Diepenbeek, next to Hasselt.
