Ok, so here we go.

The last couple of weeks i have been getting more and more cunfused about a couple of things and i just want to see what others think.

First, i want to make it perfectly clear that this example that im gonna display has not happend at all here at GTP. Its only my own thoughts.

Lets say this, This guy (lets call him "guy A":sly:) have been sitting around getting hyped up of GT4 and have just got himself a copy of Gran Turismo 3. He finds GTP and create himself a account. After some days he decides to have some fun with the Escudo and the wheelie trick. K, hes having the same laughs as most of you had while doing it and feels just as excited about it.
The only way to share this on a forum is to do one out of two things.

1. Start a new post.
This is not what we (ole viewers) want.. At all.

2. Find a similar thread
Yay, improvement.

BUT, whatever he does, someone is gonna complain at him for posting. And it is that i want to talk about.

We all dislike new "crappy" threads, but can we really think so bad about old ones beeing brought back from the dead? This is a forum, we are here to discuss and share thoughts and all that. But he does wrong if he decides to bring back a old thread?
And if it is a less important thread (yeah there has been plenty of em, i agree) and you decide to let the thread now just how un-important it is, atleast give the explanation to why it is un-important.

And if he posted a new thread, why not give this "Guy A" some links to old threads instead of just going "Hey your stupid dont make theese threads!".

Guy A will most likely not feel very welcome at all here so please, try to be more helpfull to the new ones in here. IF there now is a possibility to miss the huge (maybe should make them bigger though. :D ) READ THIS threads and some guy makes a misstake, why not help him out instead of bash him down?

I want to make clear that i am not jumping on anybody or something like that. Just want to share what i think would make this forum a bit more.. Friendly.

Best regards.
Edd1e.

That's an excellent idea, now if many of the members would step up and do that, we'd be in a much better state.

I'll cough up a prime example as well.

A simple question is asked:
What's the save/reload trick? and yes, I tried searching
Everyones immediate thought is "Sure, yeah, you searched. You could find anything on the most famous trick in the book."[/quote]

So no one provided a link to him. or even a asked what he searched for. I took a moment and did a search. Countless references to "save/reload trick" and "Save reload trick" but not one in 3 pages referred to the actual process. How deep is someone supposed to search? All the way to the beginning?

So I spelled it out for him.

Overall, I think BAZZ has some excellent thoughts.

Ah, if only I knew where to find that "complaint" setting in the AdminCP... People just need to understand that bringing up an old thread is only a bad thing when it's done with a stupid post. When it's with a legitimate comment or question, it's perfectly acceptable (preferred, even). I'm in complete agreement with you there.

Even better, if they have a question, and search, then they might even find the solution :dopey: ! I just find it ironic about how he's ranting about people who complain. :dunce:
