Don't you think it's just to much wrong with GT4 to be a Gran turismo? The sounds doesn't sound like the cars in real life, the Ford SVT Lightning is FR in real and 4WD in game, the volvo 240 Estate is a GLT but it has Volvo 240 turbo rims, and more... The game is still fantastic :) I haven't play it yet but I know it is, but Im dissapointed with this misstakes :(

No GT game as far as I am aware hasn't had any "mistakes" in it, with 700 cars and over 50 tracks I think it is rather ungrateful to complain about some cars rims being wrong, or furthermore a car being labelled 4WD when in fact it is FF, FR or whatever. To be honest yes it shouldn't have happened but but it cannot be branded a mistake it is merley an "error".

Perfection is an illusion of the mind, I doubt any GT game will leave everyone satisfied.

👍

I've been playing the game for about 2-3 hours now, and i know that as ppl said, there are a few minor graphical, how can i put it.."errors" ok, some cars have incorrect wheels, some cars even have a color avaliable to buy them in that was not actually available at that time on that car by that company. In the end, its a few aesthetic details that yes, are incorrect, but if you're going to complain a lot about something this small, then maybe just maybe you are going slightly over the top. You're doing the equivalent of ditching a hot girl cause she got a zit on her head! :)

just relax, when you drive the car, the wheels wontbe visible, when you drive against it, hopefully the front will be visible in the rear view mirror, in replays, it spins too fast to see, just relax, dont pick tiny faults, enjoy the game, and HAVE FUN! :D

well I wouldn't exactly go as far as far as saying "Why the **** does it matter?!",but I will be honest about this though. If they changed my beloved AE86 Trueno (Shuichi Shigeno Version) or even the regular one to an 4WD I would be rather pissed >_>;. So all in all..I guess it's little mistakes to some, but big mistakes to people who care about the vehicle? *shrugs* well..that's how I see it ^.^

I like very much the game "Le Mans" for the PS2. It is a very underrated game, but it is a game where you have somethings that GT3 didn't have and, from what I've read here so far (apart from realistic pit crews) GT4 will not have also. a) weather changes during races; b) day to night to day races; c) 23 AI cars (in the Le Mans race).

Applauds very very very loudly - hallelujah!

Yes handling was too arcady - cars seemed to have too much of a "floaty" feel to them, no feeling of weight and engine sounds were diabolical, but as the guy says, 24 cars - 24 hours, weather changes (although the rain felt and looked more like snow....felt as in very very sluggish) and a wonderful feeling of day changing to night and then day again.

After a few hours I was totally immersed - I felt I was there. I remember having the most painful bladder (too much detail...ROFL) ever 'cause I didn't want to leave my seat - I races 12 hours with just nature breaks and the same the following day.

What it comes down to is the coding of the game. how big is GT4 8 or 9 Gb. With all that coding there are bound to be few small mistakes, especially when we are talking details of over 650 cars. so just play and be happy.

Exactly my thoughts 👍

The came has 700 cars, of course there will be some errors or maybe just typos. People are expecting a little too much and complain before even getting their hands on the dvd-case of the game. It seems like people are waiting for the ultimate gaming perfection. Calm down people.

I don't agree with that. If you are making such a big game you know what you are getting yourself into. Therefore check, double check, tripple check. They've had time enough to do that, when taking the delays into account.

Would it be also a small mistake if for instance the Subaru Impreza was FF instead of AWD? Or that the Merc SLR was FF? To be honest, I wouldn't care either if some typos where in the game, but there is a limit to how big the mistake can be. I also don't care if the SVT is FR or 4WD, but that's only because I don't care about pickup trucks. There are people here who think otherwise.

I don't care about trivial mistakes. The only thing I'm pissed about is the lack of garage access in Arcade Mode.

First of all, Hi, I'm new here (new in posting, almost a "veteran reader" :) )

I don't think any of the above mentioned are serious mistakes and, apart from the typing mistake, the wheels of a particular car can be different from one country to another, so I don't really know if they are indeed mistakes. Anyway, they don't take away nothing from the great game GT4 surely is.

In all, Gran Turismo 4 will surely be the best game of its kind, and I really think GT3 is still the best driving simulator (until GT4 arrives in Europe).

But ... to be a good "racing simulator" they should increase the number of cars per race. That was my biggest hope for GT4, and it will be my biggest hope for GT5. Specially because every buyer of GT4, now that looong tracks and looong races have been included, will surely find that it will be at times boring to drive several hours in circuits as long as the Nurb or even Le Mans with only five cars to compete with.

I love endurance races, and I like very much the game "Le Mans" for the PS2. It is a very underrated game, but it is a game where you have somethings that GT3 didn't have and, from what I've read here so far (apart from realistic pit crews) GT4 will not have also. a) weather changes during races; b) day to night to day races; c) 23 AI cars (in the Le Mans race).

This game has poor graphics (compared to GT), poor sounds and the car behaviour is a litle "arcadish". But I must tell you I made the 24 hour Le Mans race twice, and I'm not sure I will endure that in GT4, running 24 hours in sunny day light and with just 6 cars scattered along the circuit. I'll try it, but I'll probably leave it, most of the time, to B-spec mode.

Well, my hope is that PD will take advantage of the possibilities the PS3 gives them and that - if they have to choose between 1.500 cars and improved graphics over or MORE AI CARS, they'll choose the second.

Cheers

Hey:)

My opinion strongly coincides with what you wrote.
You pretty much captured what I was going to say.

if have LeMans for both the PC and PS2 and agree with your statement. LeMans is excellent for racing with some more realistics behaviors GT lacks 👎 (time progression, weather, brakes lockup, tire failurs, etc) But you can have cake one side choclate and strawberry??

Yep, this is a major flaw if you ask me. But at least it seems like the arcade car selection is a lot bigger than GT3 according to what I heard.

See ya :sly:

Like i said in som other threads. The carsounds sux big time in gt4...Ya say that they have opeded up the hood and reckorded the engine sound...the volvo 240 does not sound lika a 240. The muscle cars for example sounds very flat... Let me give ya a link there ya can find some egnine sounds of various cars. http://aftonbladet.se/ettor/webb/2322_normal.html . A hint, "sida" means page in swedish. Even a old scrappy 240 is in it hehe.. all i can say about the gt4 engine sounds is that they only resamble the "original" engine sounds hehe.....

The other flaw is that thera are to many versions of the same car likte 10 nsx cars, 10 nissan gtr cars etc....why not just have max 5 streeet nsx, 5 street nissan gtr cars etc and let the us enjoy ferraris/porsches/lamborginis and more europe made regular cars..who wants to drive a prius in a gt game?... Yes i know i know its a japansee game and the japanses market comes first but still...
BUT i still like gt4 an hope i can get my hands on it soon....

And people that complain about us that complain about the game(shure havn't even palyed it once, but i hope it will be god) let me tell ya this....its our right to do so cuz its our "first" impression of the game(the bad parts of it, that is).....

I'm still shaking my head about that one. If this game was supposed to be online, it would end up like a sim version of PGR2 (you can pick the cars, but tuning and setup is out of the question). That wouldn't be bad, per se (I enjoy PGR2 online very much, and ANY kind of online play for GT4 would get me all giddy), but it certainly lacks the ambition that other game developers are demonstrating (*cough* forza, hell even need for speed and SRS).

The only other thing I can complain about, since I haven't played the game but have been reading peoples impressions, pics and vids religiously, is the fact that racing is still no large part of the equation. A.I. is still lackluster, the fields are still small, and competition seems to be drawn out of a hat. You see pickups racing obscure concept cars at the same time as sports cars. It just takes away from the realism.

I'm sure this game is going to blow me away when I finally get my hands on it, but I can't help getting this nagging feeling that the game is going in the wrong direction (trying to differentiate itself from "racing" games by calling itself a "driving game. that's nonsense.)

My 2 cents.

The wrong direction. But what can be said about GT5? It's comming out on the PS3. Big chanche that the racing grid is much bigger than on the PS2. Can't say anything on AI though, but I hope that they will solve that issue.

I hope that this won't become the driving game(because I also see polyphony going into that direction), but the new hardware of the PS3 opens much more possibilities.
