So heres the story....

This summer I am living in Roswell, Georgia with my unlce who is an eye doctor so I can learn the trade. So a few days ago my aunt yells for me to come to the window to see her neighbors car as he was pulling in. I only caught the back end of it and I knew immediately it was a Ferrari. So I walk up and compliment him on his car and we get to the small talk. His car is a 2008 Ferrari 430 scuderia in yellow with grey stripes. It only had about 190 miles on it and it was a month old. He says its the only one in Georgia and most likely the only one in the south east. He also has a 2008 lotus exige in grey and 2 ducatti's (999r, and 996) an mv agusta f4 (extremely rare) and a few other moter cycles. As you may be thinking this neighborhood is extremely wealthy... extremely!

He is an older gentlemen about 65 or so and we talked for a good half hour about cars and whatnot. As it turns out he grew up in the town next to mine in New Jersey. So a long story short he said stop by some time this week and well take the Ferrari out for a spin. So I am syked about even standing next to this car let alone getting a ride in it!

So today I walk over about 2 p.m. and immediatly he gets the keys and we walk out to the garage and admire a few of his bikes and his cars (forgot to mention the porche cayanne gts). So he starts up the scuderia and it really roars. He pulls it out and I take some pics and a video or two and were off.

First off the car is extremly low and pretty interesting to get into. Becasue the car wasn't really broken in there was very little high speed stints. Allan (his name) did rev it up to 6500rpm once and it was defaning! So this whole time were chatting away really getting along. So he pulls over, I'm thinking to turn around and head back (after 20 or so miles) and he says lets see how you fair behind the wheel.... I nearly pooped myself.

I was shocked so much I couldnt open the door to get out! Here I am 17 had my license for 7 months and now driving a car worth more than my life!

So I pull out of the gas station we pulled into and driving this car is really almost a sexual experince. Everything is so amazing and powerful, I dont even know the words to describe how I felt. I had a huge grin on my face and would laugh out loud becasue I so excited. Everything on the car is so touchy. The 16in brakes were really hard to get used to. The slightest tap and it nearly jerked you forward! The full time paddle shifters were amazing! It felt like it shifted even before your touched the paddles. And the 503hp v8 engine was outstanding. At around 4000 rpm a valve in the exaust would open and it would scream!

The roads I drove on was great too... nice country roads. I didnt go above 65. I was extremely cautious and respectful to he car. I know I hate it whan I let someone drive my gti and they abuse it. Once we got back to his house we got out and popped the hood and admired the engine and the car as a whole. I snapped a bunch of pics with my phone... I even got Allan to take one of me behind the wheel at a red light! I couldn't stop thanking him and saying how much of an honor it was (in 20 years only 2 other people drove any of his cars, not even his wife). I think he let me drive it because we got along very well and he has no one else to talk to about cars and to really connect with. I had a good 30 minutes behind the wheel time.

Today was possibly the greatest day of my life....

Please ask me questions becasue I can't remember everything unless I can talk about it

I want to thank you for making me turn the greenest shade of envy the world has ever seen 👍

Ah now you see I was fine with the story but those pictures have just made me so damn jealous!

Nice one on getting such a great opportunity 👍

wow, i live just down the road from Ferrari of Atlanta, and never would've guessed they'd have the scuderia. that first pic is in crabapple near the highschool i went to.

What's awesome is you drove this and I don't believe Doug has...and he works at a Ferrari dealership. I'm extremely jealous of you but I have to give you props for being so lucky. Nice little story about it to, better then just "OMG I DROVE THE CAR" type of stuff some people would say.

He had to order it special from the dealer and wait 6 months before he got it. My uncle lives in a subdivision on houze way. I'm sure you are like 5 mins from me right now lol.

I consider myself extremely lucky! I know when I sat in the drivers seat of the car my whole body was shaking lol. The car it truely a work of art and I am honored that I was given the chance to drive it, especially at such a young age. These cars are really rare and I assume they all have to be specially ordered so I guess they aren't just sitting around the lot at a dealer. I'm guessing thats why Doug hasn't (that we know of) driven one yet.

Wow, nice one. Thanks for writing up a good story about it too.

The coolest car I've ever driven is an RS4, which was nice... but not really F430 scuderia-ish. :sly: Oh, I'll be in New Jersey from tomorrow... so perhaps I could nick a ride.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Great story - you are very lucky and I hope you remember this for a LONG time to come, including when you buy your own awesome car and some overenthusiastic 17yo wants to see it... :D trust me I know EXACTLY how you feel and I'm so happy you got to experience something so awesome.

(I have driven a 430 Scuderia, from one corner of the showroom to another. Didn't get above 2mph... let alone 65. :D)

BTW are you in Fulton? Interesting fact of the day: exactly 6,500 license plates before his was issued, Usher registered his Carrera GT!

WANT.

I think that's about all I can say.

And I thought the GTI was an incredible drive. I can't imagine how thrilling that must have been.

HOLY 🤬
You are definitely a lucky S.O.B. :p So what was it like to drive a Ferrari? Do you wish to own one yourself now that you have driven one? Wow, I can't imagine myself driving a car like that on the road........

Wow, must have been an incredible experience for you, i'm very jealous.

Like others have probably mentioned, you want to keep close to this guy!

The problem now is that you'll have to get a good enough job to get enough money to buy your own (or it's equivalent in a few years) - because you can't live as an adult knowing your best driving experience was at 17 in a neighbour's Ferrari...

:p

i know where that is. i live in Gwinnett. Congrats to you man!

At 21, the best thing i've driven is a 2008 STI before release. It was a car with 8 miles on it and it was headed to the sales chief of the southeast Subaru.

Keep your pants buckled tight around this guy.

Nice pictures.

LOL! That's what I was thinking.

Socom, I know exactly what you mean about the pedals, though. The brake pedal on my dad's car only needs a feather-touch and the same goes for the throttle. I can only imagine how much more gentle you need to be with that Ferrari.

Thanks for all the comments! I know I will remember this until the day I die! While I was driving it I made up in my mind that I will work hard and become an eyedotor like my uncle and make lots of money so I can have a supercar... or two.... maybe even 3 :)

I just hope that doesnt spoil me so I wont like to drive my car ;)

You know, if some 17 year old sees this and commits suicide, I AM rattin you out LOL.

.Props man. How was it? Didn't take over 2k RPM did you..lololol...
