The Tokyo Game Show takes place this year from tomorrow the 9th of October to the 12th.

I thought it would be a good idea to have all the Playstation news from TGS in one little thread here. If anyone sees anything please post it here and I'll repost it in this, the 1st post, and I'll give credit to those who spotted the news first. I think it would be good to have a handy source to view all the announcements.

And of course let the speculation begin on this the eve of arguably the biggest gaming show of the year!

News:
Polyphony Digital and Sony have decided to sell the new 80Gb model of the PS3 with a copy of GT5P, with the spec III already installed for the same price as the old 40Gb model.

What about the guys who created ICO1, 2, and Shadow of Colossus? I hear they going to announce a new game.

I've heard nothing really about them, very hard to find any news other then MGS and LBP. Maybe there is something in this for you:

Also see at the top of that, it says Sony Press Conference, Coming Soon??? Its dated today but is it not over today in Japan?

I think it will be Sony's new ICO 3 or Shadow of the Colossus game reveal. I am very excited about it...

So its unlikely that the press conference is now then??

And for those who love LBP, I seen awhile ago Solid Snake and another character have been added to the game.

Maybe they are behind with uploading the videos.. who knows
But I am sure that ICO and Shadow of Colossus guys are going to premiere new game.!!
 
Yeah, only thing that cought my eye so far, other then LBP, Resistance 2... etc.. was White Knight. Looks like a solid RPG with cool battle sequences.

Anywho... apparently Sony is not doing a press conference at all! What I hear you cry!.. well its true..

Sony denies stealthy TGS conference​

Sony has told Eurogamer that it has no plans to put on a Tokyo Game Show press conference, despite reports to the contrary.

The platform holder's Japanese video website specifically lists "SCEJ Press Conference 10/9".

But while the company is expected to show a number of new titles, two separate sources at Sony Europe have denied it, including one currently in Japan for TGS, who said his colleagues looked baffled when he raised the subject.

CESA, the company that runs the show, also makes no mention of such an event on its website.

Sony had briefed Japanese press about a few items, including the direct PSP Store, which is perhaps what the Sony site listing refers to.

With a number of first-party PS3 titles promised at TGS but as yet unseen, however, there is room for a few more unveilings, if nothing else.

And then tomorrow, the company plans to demonstrate White Knight Story (White Knight Chronicles in Japan) in a product-specific presentation.

So, er, if there is a Sony press conference, it appears Sony forgot to invite the press - or tell its employees. Move along!

As for how they are going to annouce new stuff I guess it will just be done in a paper press release, thats kinda lame but they did do a big conference at E3. I guess its another case of the left hand not taking to the right... I was expecting the biggest PS3 press conference yet!

That is dumb, Tekken on XBOX? ughh... At least it's a fighting game so all content can fit into simple DVD.. Unlike GTA4 where PS3 had to be scaled down to be identical to Xbox because damn DVD could not handle ALL the Features that PS3 could have....

What's next God of War and Twisted Metal on Xbox as well?

Sony need to pay good for exclusives.. and why are they not? After all SONY is gaining more money then Micro$oft now... what gives?
 
They only thing that worries me about multiplatform is that PS3 users are getting the raw deal with all games being coded to fit on a DVD... so in essence making Blu Ray's storage benefits useless apart from first party dev use.

MS defnitley had a plan for the ps3. They stole all of the exclusives and made the use of blu-ray obsolete unless it's for 1st party developers. It's dirty but it's buisness. Unfortunatley us the ps3 consumers get the raw end of the deal due for the simple fact developers instead of making a game on an immense disc must take into consideration the multi-platform aspect and the limitations of the DVD format. The ps3 has the cell processor for the very reason to take adavantage of developers who make very detailed games with many things going on at once. With the DVD limitation this of course can not be taken advantage of.

I dont want to rant or put down the ps3, but if i would have known that every single exclusive game that i really enjoyed (Ace combat, FF series, Resident Evil, Devil may cry, GTA, and now Tekken) and made the PS what it was, would find it's way to the xbx i would have thought about my options for a bit longer.
 
Well the so called ps3 list of new games has been revealed and in my eyes it is possibly the most epic fail playstation has ever done. Either they are clinically insane or they think no one has the internet! Previously unheard of releases, give me a break!

GT5P Spec 3 - We already have some of it, it was a given months ago and its an update to a game thats not even a full release. EPIC EPIC FAIL!!!!

Deamon Souls . meh!

Dynasty Warriors 5 . meh!

Yazuka 3 - some like this series, kinda meh!

PES 09 . oh gosh, didnt see that one coming!! Epic meh!

Metal Gear Online . We kinda already have it and everyone knew about it ages ago, again total fail on the 'never heard before front'

quantum theory . sounds like a PSN game which to me arnt releases.

Spelunker - sounds rubbish

Flower . knew about this ages ago and have seen it many times.

I see why sony didnt do a press conference, it would have been embarrassing! Luckily 2.5 makes up for some of this.

I don't think PS3 users need to worry that much, after all a new Xbox is coming next year anyway. It should have a blu-ray, i'm guessing.
