Tomahawk Flaps down help

Bit of a silly question but anyone know if you can put the flaps down with a controller? Dont wanna waste money on a wheel just to do such a thing!

I think nitro is bound to R1. If memory serves me right, one of the other VGT's (Nissan maybe...) uses the same button for KERS.

There is no nitro and speed mode (For Dodge Tomahawk) in GTSport.

Therefore you can't activate it.
Theres a button for wheels and on youtube there are some new top speed vids with flaps down so it can still be done i just wanted to know if i can do with controller

If theres no way with a controller then I hope they add it in sometime otherwise ill just get a secondhand T80 wheel :banghead:

GT Sport doesn't have Nitro.
Why would there be a button assigned to it?
Sounds weird.

GT6 had Nitro, and the Tomahawk "X" also automatically fully retracted all flaps in GT6.
I don't think they fully retract in Sport.
Are we sure we aren't getting mixed up here?

Well bugger me!
Just checked the button assignment on my g29 and "nitro" is indeed mapped to the R3 button.

I learned something today :)

Edit: to clear up any confusion, "nitro" seems to be the name PD are using as a catch all for any sort of speed boosting feature and most likely covers KERS as well as DRS.

It also is reported that there is no opton anywhere to assign this button on a DS4.

Yeh, just did a bit of checking myself too.

Found some old videos showing Nitro assigned to buttons.
I can't find a wheel in-game that has it assigned any more though, and I certainly haven't altered any of those button assignments.
I don't have a fully supported wheel though, so maybe that makes a difference?

I also found what looks like an X with fully retracted flaps going around BMB.

You probably saw the GT6 gameplay.
Tested and confirmed.
Just now I was able to drop the flaps at SSRX and get another whole 4kmh top end out of the Hawk.
Now ima go play with the Merc F1 and see if its got anything.

Seeing as not even the DS4 supports it i'm guessing that might be what it is.

Cool. 👍
Yeh, I've tried everything possible, besides getting out my old G29.
Nothing's worked for me.

But I just found what I was looking for.
Evidence of it working in 1.32
Tomahawk X on Route X, no flaps.

Yes there is. I saw a guy once that did 650 in the Tomahawk, he told me there was a nitro button on his steering wheel or a button that he could bind to something that put all of his flaps down.

Dan
Can the same button be used to activate the McLaren P1 GTR’s DRS mode?

I thought that the DRS mode automatically activated when you were going in a straight line.

The Tomahawk X used pressurized air to improve the airflow around the car when you pressed the nitro button in GT6. I don't remember if the nitro button also retracted the flaps?

Damn this sucks! I can see the mapping option for the G29 but not for my T500 :(
I guess those inferior wheels need a bit of extra help? :)

Might be able to do something if you have a cronusmax?

I hope this gets fixed

It's mapped to R1 on the pad already.

I doubt they'll ever give the option of manual KERS though, too sim like for GT.

So I can put the flaps down on the Tomahawk? Will go and check.

And GT had Nitro in the past, which I thought was to arcadey for GT but shows they have allowed manual operation of boost. I don't think it would make it too sim like.

This is news for me. Previously GTS doesn't allow you to retract the wings manually.

Just for those who are confused, in GT6 there was a "Nitro" button which is a catch all term for any speed boosting feature a car has. Nissan VGT has KERS, Tomahawk allows you to retract flaps and use pressurized air to improve airflow, and the various LMP1 hybrids allows you to use up your battery power quicker than the standard deployment. Of course, in road cars equipped with nitro it's used to engage NOS.
