I bought a chevy camaro and a 350z and i put every amount of horsepower on it and now the car is unstable. When i take off from first gear the engine starts roaring the car starts spinning and smoke starts bursting out i tried putting on soft sport tires and that helped but i cant drift with it. i put on wings body kits and that barely helped i messed around with the suspension and eventually i foudn no solution. i saw a thread similar to this one but the answers didnt help. can some1 please help me. is there a way to stabilize the car without reducing horsepower

Better tires. If you're trying to drift (which it sounds like you are), you don't really need all that much horsepower, so reducing it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Grippier tires will add stability to the car.

Drifters usually use comfort softs...

Did you take all the weight off too? My Comaro and Z are fine fully tuned without weight reduction.

It sounds like he wants more power with traction to use it, try sofening the rear suspension and play with the diff settings.

yea i bought the weight reducer but didnt help

It won't help, in your case. The decreased weight is gonna give you less traction, hence your lack of traction problem.

Cars don't need to be boosted to the limit of their power to be good drift cars. Take a C 63 AMG for example, stock settings with CS tyres and no aides and the thing will go sideways like there's no tomorrow!

oh btw i think its called red line but when i try to take off from first gear the red dot keeps blinking thats what i meant when i say my engine roars

i mean i raced against cpu's that go way faster than me but their car is stabilized and i was trying to use my cars for drifting and racing so basically for 2 purpose but guess it didnt work out

Maximize the aero kit if you haven't already but when you put that much power into the car you'll have to learn how to handle it yourself. You can also put racing tires on the car for more grip than sport tires.

I'd advise using MT that way you can shift a gear when your hitting the limited (The red blinking light). Using a car for two purposes will always give it least advantage in either circumstance.
If your hammering the throttle from the off then the revs may climb faster than the momentum of the car therefore causing a lack of grip and the wheels to spin on the spot. Try winding the throttle on bit by bit, by this I mean applying throttle gradually until the car has began to grip and then the rest of the power can be applied in the same way. With practice it comes.

I'd also like to remind you that proper grammar and punctuation should be used at all times. Capitals, full stops, commas and that kind of thing. :)

i do use manual transmission and tried as u told me but not help and i put max downforce on my wings

Use Racing Softs. The end.

Subtract power, add practice.

Turn your traction control up to 1 or 2. Some of the "pros" here will think you're ruining the game, but most won't judge if it let's you enjoy it more.

Drifting with traction control is like wheelchairing in a dining chair. Does. Not. Work.

Didn't see he wants it for racing and drifting.

Go into the tuning section and find a good tune. With that, throttle control and practice you should get it soon enough.

No offence, but that's not really the best theory. Drift and 'race' settings are going to be different, especially gearbox and LSD settings.

Have one car for specifically for each, it's alot easier that way as those wonderfully thoughtful people at Polyphony have only given us 1 settings per car - having two cars is the easiet solution.

You won't have to constantly be changing setups, potentially loosing certain settings or going into a race with drift settings or vica versa.

The drift sub section has got some extremely helpful threads about drift cars and setups, likewise, the Tuning subsection has got some very good infomation about setting a car up, aswell as explaning things like LSD's and anti roll bars etc etc.

It is possible to run quite high power with lower grip tyres online, don't use racing softs or driving aids - these have the potential to distort any changes you make to the suspension and LSD, meaning you won't learn anything, and often can become more confused.

Don't try and run before you can walk, start of with a mildly tuned car for each (drift and race), then start learning about setups for both and slowly progress.

Also, a handy tip is to have 3 copies of the same car - 2 for racing, 1 with JUST a custom LSD and the other with JUST custom suspension. This way you can adjust each without the other potentially having an affect, and it'll help you understand what each one does alot quicker, plus you won't be going round in circles or second guessing yourself asking if one is screwing up the other - which, potentially, it can do if not tuned right.

Mach 1 is driftable and easy to drift with when you have Racing Soft, but I agree, I use Comfort Hard -> Sports Soft when drifting.
ALWAYS the same tires in the front as it is in the back.

Throttle control? Sounds like you don't use TCS to me so that might help. Launch in a different gear? May be slower bu it sure is easier than spinning up
