Too much power ?

Beside the awful AI, the main problem in GT games is the possibility to put nealy infinite horsepower in every car.

450 hp in an integra ?
1000 hp in a skyline ?
1000 hp in a GTO ?

This is simulation game, not sci-fi !!!!!!!!!!!

So, let's just hope GT4 is more realistic and get rid of stupid cars like the polyphony F1.

NB : I would love to drive old F1 but real ones !

they havent but inifinite hp on every car, is it possible to have a 1000hp GTR and theres plenty in Japan. 1000hp GTO and 450hp Integra are also possible.

OK, maybe it's true, but I prefer normally aspirated car to be kept that way. I don't think it's possible to get 450 hp out of the 1800 cc engine of an Integra without a turbo ?

What's more the JGTC cars should be kept around 700 hp : that's their real race power !

NB : for the game to remain a simulation, I never use the 'level 4' mod, never put a turbo on an N/A engine and never put racing tyres on a not-tuned car.

But you can do all these things IRL, if you wanted to. So what is your point?

The 'level 4' turbo mod in the game can resemble either a powerful dual, or quad turbo setup IRL.

Normal Aspiration cars can be fitted with either turbos, or superchargers, which the turbo mods in GT3 resemble.

Racing tires can be bought at Pep Boys, and fitted on to any car. They just wont be street legal to use, of course, but then GT3 races are closed event races on street, road, or track
courses.

So go nuts. It's all a real simulation. 👍

Tuned GTR to reach over 1000hp is a norm. Given you do all the tuning listed in the game, you WOULD reach 450 on an integra. SUpras and GTOs would easily go up to 1000 too. So its not sci-fi, its reality and its not uncommon!

Still seems pretty daft though imo

Also as has been pointed out, you can't get an already tuned race car & add another 500BHP! :irked:

With 500 hp, you are often miles ahead of the others ...

With 1000 hp, where is the fun ?

Nobody replied to this comment but what do you think about polyphony F1 ? My point is they shouldn't be in the game !

they shouldnt have there own PD F1 car, who says you lol... all racing games might have there own special edition car, the F1 is based on a real 1 car with just there name on it, pretty much PD could add whatever they want and i really dont care, cuz even though your trying to bash GT and all but for every complaint you have your getting shut down so why bother, this game is a REAL driving simulator, you can reach those HP with all the upgrades, the PD F1 car is based on a real car just with there name on it, i mean just cut the **** your just making yourself look like a dumbass...

Hey man, I really love GT1-2-3 but you can already find dozens F1 games with real cars-drivers-tracks.

So, I think PD should add more nowaday or vintage cars instead of copying some F1 cars. There are so many other cars I would love to drive.

NB1 : SUV in GT4 is a great idea. Dodge RAM SRT-10 rules !
NB2 : let's get rid of High Speed Ring.

Rport: ease up and refrain from attacking other people.

too-fast4you has an honest opinion that he clarified and reasoned out. A well thought out post and reasonable in his justification.

You responded with a direct attack on him with very little to back it up. I also suggest that you take a grammar and punctuation lesson from too-fast4you. With your lack of control of the Englsh language, he's not the one looking like an idiot.

Consider this a strong suggestion to clean up your posts.

Thats nice. Now let the more open minded people enjoy the game the way they want to just like you. Please correct me if I'm wrong but didn't older F1 cars from the 70's-80's have 1000hp??

As far as grammar and punctuation, let people speak the way they want to just like people giving their own opinions. You are attacking him for his grammer. Geez people. This "aint no" class room.

You're right, it's not a classroom, it is a privately owned public forum for discussion. The owner and the moderators will ask that you conduct yourself in approriate ways. Proper grammar and punctutation (or at least an attempt at them) are appropriate ways.

The comments I made were suggestions. I did not add "Or else" or anything along those lines.

They're just upping the stakes as you progress through the game. Formula 1 is like the premier Grand Touring car class, and that's what Gran Turismo is all about.

If you want to leave something out how about we start with the Escudo?

I must of not been here for a while. Hey Der Alta when did they make you a mod. What, was it the prize of "who should be the next moderator" or whatever competition :p .
IMO I think they should disable the function to continuing upgrading race cars. Aren't race cars supposed to be maximum tuned anyway (with exceptions)? Even though F1 cars are kool I'd like to see them go to be honest. Again imo I just don't think they're realistic to real F1 cars. I can't say that I've ever driven an F1 car but I think if you want an F1 car you should buy an F1 game. I thought GT was for Grand Tourers, not open wheelers. And I also agree with LoudMusic. I think the Escudo should go. Or if not, you should not be able to tune it any more and there should be other Pike Peak cars to go with it and I want to see race and horsepower limitations again.:)

Yes, I think a better grouping of competative cars needs to take place for Arcade mode. And more/better restrictions on Simulation races. I mean, entering a formula 1 car in the MR races doesn't quite count ...

Sorry, but thats not quite true. Most GT or GT-N class cars run with air intake restictors to reduce HP to meet the class limits. As an example when the TVR Speed 12 competed in the British GT championship in BHP was limited to 770bhp, without the intake resitictors on the engine broke a dyno rated at 1000bhp.

WRC cars are limited to 300bhp, but are capable of being tuned to much higher levels.

The question is not is it possiable (because it is), but is it a fair, but then again can you fair to a games AI!

On the subject of the Escudo, I would like to the return of the Pikes Peak track and more cars from the unlimited class, such as the 840bhp RS200 in the shot below.

I was mainly referring to cars which should already be tuned to their max capabilities :) (& that you can't just plonk on a load of BHP)

Speed 12 is about 800BHP as standard I thought.

ooo RS 200
:O

I'd quite like to see the Pikes Peak Peugeot 405, christ that thing makes a nice noise

As already mentioned loads of cars have over 1000Bhp when tuned especiallyy Skyline's, Supra's and Viper's and NA cars can still gat remarkable power results from variouse techniques of modding the engine, an NA tune consists of loads of changes.

JGTC cars have 2 classes the GT300 which has cars with 300Bhp and GT500 which has cars with less than 500Bhp, I don't know why you think they have 700Bhp, the JGTC cars in GT3 are all accurate the ones in GT2 had JGTC bodywork but PD did'nt have a JGTC licence so they could'nt use JGTC specs for the cars.

Also the unrealistc thing in GT is that you can't turbo every car, it's possible in real life, every car should have turbo or NA tune options available, theres nothing stopping me turboing a Viper in real life.

I want more mods in GT4, and rather than different levels of NA tune or turbo's choose the size of turbo and the parts involed in an NA tune.

Having the f1 cars in the game, to me, actually added to the overall enjoyment I have taken from gt3.

Once I won my first one I tested it out and did notice that the races would not be anywhere near challenging anymore I didn't use the cars. Now once I was able to race against the other f1's in the game I used them. It was like playing a f1 game with gt3's physics. Don't know about anyone else but a change of pace in that game, when there wasn't too many company only races, made it better IMO.

Ok then. But you if someone has a "pattern" of improper grammer then it should slide without pointing it out. I dont see how proper grammer is a way of conduct to be considered appropriate, its a choice(sometimes :p) of speech.

I totally agree with your last proposition. For that, GT1 was best because you can also see the power to weight ratio of other competitors before entering a race.

NB1 : improper grammar makes it very hard to understand for foreign people (I mean not english speaking) like me !

NB2 : only 500 hp for JGTC cars, I thought they were as powerfull as the FIA-GT cars. Even a Viper would blow them !

It's debatable whether an FIA GT Viper would be able to outmuscle a JGTC GT500 car. Honestly, don't know much about the international racecar classes but maybe someone with a bit more knowledge can help us out on whether FIA GT cars and JGTC cars are that much different...

For my part, I know that despite the horsepower restrictions, the Japanese series' regulations are fairly liberal on the levels of reengineering the donor car can undergo before it hits the race track. They actually have very sophsiticated suspension (in some cases mounted like an open-wheeler) that gives them incredible corner speeds, if not the sort of grunt you need down Mulsanne...

If you want to leave something out how about we start with the Escudo?

Keep it, but only allow it to be used for high speed tests and the Pikes Peak course...:)

If proper grammar is a choice, then why wouldn't you use it? It's much easier to read and understand a post if the grammar and spelling is decent. So why would you "choose" to use bad grammar?

I like having the F1 cars. They're a lot of fun on courses like Monaco. I could do without the Escudo. I've probably only used it once or twice since I got the game. It's like driving a skateboard with a viper engine mounted to the back of it.

If you want to learn more about JGTC, this is a good place to start.

Just click on the word "English" at the top of the page.

The GT2 and GTS Vipers would beat any GT500 class car, the GT500's are limited to 500Bhp and the weight is similar so the FIA cars have a better power to weight, also the aerodynamic restrictions are different, GT500 cars however will beat any DTM car, not by as largwe a margin as a GT2 Viper but if the drivers are equally skilled the the DTM cars would lose.

As for bringing back the power limits from GT2, I really would like to see that back in the game, it kept races fairer as long as the computer cars make use of the power allowed, I noticed in GT2 alot of the cars were nowhere near the maximum allowed power and if you were near that you won too easily.

I just did a search to check that out.

So that looks like the JGTC's dump on the Viper from a great height!

This wasn't about me. But I do chose to use proper grammer when I speak. Being black in Milwaukee,WI It's pointed out if you do use proper grammer. When I was younger I was made fun of all the time and was told I talked funny because I dont have broken english like most of people around here.

Are you sure it was the same track layout cos there is more than one variation of Suzuka, the GT2 cars should be a hell of alot quicker than JGTC, your talking less weight in a GT2 and 120-140 more Bhp. I've seen better lap times than the Oliver Beretta Viper GT2 at Suzuka anyway, too many sites say different things, I'll have a look around and see if theres another track both classes use.
