Crysis: eerily realistic![]()
Bernd Diemer, the senior game designer for developer Crytek, made the statements during the Games Convention at Leipzig, German publication Heise has revealed.
According to a Team Xbox translation, Diemer said that "next generation consoles like the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 do not offer the sufficient power" to handle a game like Crysis.
Crytek is developing Crysis around Dirext X 10 graphical specifications, which are only supported by Microsoft's upcoming PC operating system, Windows Vista. The game will be compatible with Direct X 9.0 hardware, however, which is found in most Windows XP gaming PCs currently on the market.
